Christmas Fayre 2017

On Friday we held our annual Christmas Fair, organised by our Parent Partners Group. The choir opened the event by singing some Christmas songs and all the classes had taken part in Enterprise projects which they sold at the fair. Our nurture groups, outdoor club and parent craft club also had stalls. Our P7 Young Leaders came along and worked at some of the stands and even set up their own nail bar. Thanks to everyone who organised the event and to all those who visited and donated to school funds.

Christmas Lunch

Today we wore our festive jumpers for our Christmas Lunch. The Primary 7 Young Leaders served us our lunch and we got to relax and enjoy our food with our friends and teachers. Thank you to the kitchen staff for such a yummy lunch!

Pumphie Pals: Golden Time Consultation

As Golden Time is an important part of our school ethos, the House and Vice Captains decided they would like to consult with the whole school on what is working and what might need changed. We used our Pumphie Pals time today to explore what it might look like in the New Year. Our House and Vice Captains will now meet to collate this information.

Travelling to School

Our JRSOs (Junior Road Safety Officers) carried out a quick “hands-up” survey last week to see how pupils travel to school. They asked nursery -P7 pupils and they were very surprised by how many people are driven to school.

  • Walk – 58
  • Cycle – 8
  • Scooter/Skate – 13
  • Driven – 86
  • Park and stride – 38

Fantastic Fundraisers!

We are so proud of Rosa and Darcy.  Over the weekend they decided to raise money for the school by making and selling slime.  Rosa told me the recipe and it is very complicated!  The girls were amazing role-models and fantastic entrepreneurs, raising £66!  Well done girls – be very proud of yourselves as responsible citizens and contributors.

RRS Magale Representatives

Each class has now voted for reps for our Rights Respecting School – Magale group.  This group works with Miss Cave and Mrs Strachan to develop PUSCPS as a Rights Respecting School in line with Unicef principles and to strengthen our support and understanding for our partner school – Magale in Uganda.  Congratulations to all.

House and Vice Captains

Our P7 Young Leaders had the opportunity to stand for House Captain this session.  They made videos for all pupils to see and then there was a vote from all the pupils in each house.  We are proud to introduce our House and Vice Captains for this session.

Pumphie Pals

Our first Pumphie Pals groups of the year this morning started well with a new group of P7 Young Leaders responsible for planning and delivering the session.  Today the pupils are talking about our expectations.  What makes a good PUSCPS pupil?  See our short video below, and some photos.
