Calder House Party

Dear parent/ carer,

Calder House Party

As Calder was the House Winner last term, we have organised a ‘Pyjama Party’ for the children in Calder on Friday 13th April.  If your child  is in Calder they can bring pyjamas/ onesie (please no football pyjamas) to school on Friday to change into for the party.

Kind regards,

Jessica and Katie

House and Vice Captain

P7 Rotary Club Quiz

This week our P7s took part in the Rotary Club of Livingston’s Quiz. There was steep competition against Uphall and Broxburn Primary.

Thank you to the Rotary Club for organising this experience for us and a big well done to our team.

Thank you to our Vice Captains for welcoming our guests.

Cluster London Trip

On Monday 12th March Miai and Jessica, two of our house captains in P7 joined our other cluster schools to attend the Commonwealth Games Ceremony at Westminster in London.

Thank you to Broxburn Academy for inviting us along and a special thank you to Ms Henderson (Head Teacher at Kirkhill Primary) and Mrs Fawkes (Head Teacher at Uphall Primary School) for putting together such an exciting programme of events for the children and for looking after our girls. This is definitely something they will remember for many years to come.

Families Reading Together

Today was our second session of Families Reading Together in our community library. Thank you to Moira, our librarian and our P7 Young Leaders for organising this. There is another session tomorrow after school, we look forward to seeing you then.

Message for Primary 7 Pupils

This is a good opportunity for P7 pupils to continue to use their Yammer Group to share learning and what you have been doing in the snow.

Remember that Yammer is our professional identity and for sharing learning. Perhaps you could ask questions related to World Book Day or your IDL context of China. You could also share some photos of your snow day activities.

You can access the group by clicking here or logging into Glow, clicking on Yammer and then WL PUSCPS P7.

I look forward to seeing your posts.

Families Reading Together

Please remember that our ‘Families Reading Together’ sessions take place in the library after school on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Our P7 helpers will be there to help from 3.15-4pm! Here are some photos from Monday’s session, when some of our nursery children enjoyed hearing stories from the P7s and our librarian, Moira. Some of the other P7s were busy making posters to advertise the sessions. We hope that you can come along and support them!

P7 Lunchtime Problem Solving

As the sun shone on us today at lunch time Primary 7 decided to use the logs to create their own game. They had to risk assess which logs were safe to stand on and tested out the log path to ensure it was safe to leep across. Then they decided on rules on how to play the game in a fair way. They had lots of fun and Miss Burton even had a go too (with some support!), everyone who joined in managed to earn themselves a dojo! Well done P7!
