JRSO Weekly Blog

The JRSO’s have been learning how much a driver can see while sitting in the driver’s seat and where the blind spots are on the car model.  P7 pupils got to sit in Mrs Hull’s car (with the keys secure in her pocket) to safely re-create what it is like to be a driver at the wheel and the dangers of being a pedestrian.

JRSO Parksmart poster winners

At today’s Assembly we heard who had won the Poster competition organised by the JRSOs. Here are the winning designs which will be adapted into posters for display around our school, to encourage everyone to park smart or to travel to school without the car.

Well done to Sophie, Bayleigh, Kyle, Bailey, Molly, Nia, Freya, and Jonathan.

Primary 3

In writing this week primary 3 have been focusing on using the connectives, and, but and because. We have been learning the Canadian Barn Dance in PE as we will be  doing this dance at our Christmas Party. As part of our Senses topic we have been looking at people who do not have their sense of sight and how they have to rely on their other senses.

P1 Rights Work

Want or need? This is what Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 have been thinking about this week!

Ted has decided to move to a new land and we had to work in groups to decide the five most important things he would need to take with him.

We understood that there are things we need to live and there are others which would be nice to have, but we could live without them. However, one confused us…

So we challenge you.. A toothbrush – want or need?

Good luck!

P1 & P1/2 Victorian Tea Party

This week, Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 have been very busy preparing for the final part of their Birthdays topic – our Victorian Tea Party! We have been busy making bow ties and headbands to wear and have been practising how to use a cup and saucer – ask us to show you how! We are very good at it now! We have also been preparing Memory Bags for our grown ups to show them what we have learned through this topic.

Grown ups..

Please wear your finest garments and we will meet you at 11.45am to escort you into the dining area.

Primary 5 Linlithgow Trip

We had a fantastic trip last week to Linlithgow Palace, Linlithgow High Street and Annet House Museum.  We really enjoyed exploring the Palace and learning new games and information from our brilliant Primary 7 Guides from Linlithgow Primary School. The sun even shone when we had a picnic lunch in the beautiful gardens at Annat House.  At the end of the garden we saw a statue of Mary Queen of Scots looking over to the place she was born, Linlithgow Palace.  It was a great day that we all really enjoyed and some of us are planning to go back again in the future.
