Book Week Scotland – Primary 1

P1 have really enjoyed exploring the three books from their P1 Book Bags over the last few weeks.

We have focused on the different emotions the characters have shown in the book.  In ‘Eric makes a Splash’, the character is a real worrier and we explored his face expressions and how his voice might sound.  We used an app called Chatterkid on the Ipads to show this.

PUSCPS Celebrates Book Week Scotland

Today we had a Book Week Scotland Assembly to celebrate our learning on the lead up to Book Week Scotland.

Miss Burton read us a passage from The Truth Pixie by Matt Haig, as this is book she enjoys reading.

We looked at some of the photos that children had sent in of them reading in an unusual place.  Well done to everyone who sent in a photo!

We watched a video in which children from each class shared what they had been learning in class.

We also dressed up as a book character!

We also celebrated our Living our Values children (and adults).

P2S Book Week

This week Primary 2S received their Read, Write, Count bags to take home. Each bag contained 2 books, snakes and ladders and finger puppets!

In class, we read one of our Read, Write, Count books,  A Tale of Two Beasts by Fiona Roberton.  In the story there are lots of things that the beast isn’t happy about – we shared our ideas then wrote about a day out that the beast would love and one that he would hate!

P5 celebrate book week

We have enjoyed reading ‘Wonder’ by R J Palacio. We have done a variety of activities to allow us to develop our emotional vocabulary. We developed our skills in ‘hot seating’ in drama where we had to become the characters from the novel.
