Primary 4 were very lucky to be the first class to welcome our visitors from the RSPB to our school.
We had lots of discussion about habitats and what we can do to help animals who want to live (or do live) in our school grounds.
We went on a walk around the school to look out for habitats which we have and we got to keep record of how many we have and how many points we scored.
Our school got 119 points and we were only missing 2 habitats! We were very proud of our score and really enjoyed being out to explore our school, even if it was very chilly!
Here are some photos of us all having fun:
On Friday we held our annual Christmas Fair, organised by our Parent Partners Group. The choir opened the event by singing some Christmas songs and all the classes had taken part in Enterprise projects which they sold at the fair. Our nurture groups, outdoor club and parent craft club also had stalls. Our P7 Young Leaders came along and worked at some of the stands and even set up their own nail bar. Thanks to everyone who organised the event and to all those who visited and donated to school funds.
On Friday morning at 9.15am, we will celebrate our Christmas assembly, to which all parents and carers are invited. Pupils from P1-P7 will sing a selection of Christmas songs, which I’m sure you’ll want to join in with, and we will be joined by our chaplain, Mr Povey. We look forward to seeing many of you on Friday at 9.15am.
Remember that, on Friday, children can wear their Christmas jumpers and bring a donation to raise money for the Green Gang.
Friday Parent Craft Club!
We have been having lots of fun trying out some festive crafts and have learned that some things are easier than others.
Here are a few things that we have been working on for the Christmas Fayre on Friday. All the funds that we raise will go back into the school and our club to buy materials.
Today we wore our festive jumpers for our Christmas Lunch. The Primary 7 Young Leaders served us our lunch and we got to relax and enjoy our food with our friends and teachers. Thank you to the kitchen staff for such a yummy lunch!
This week, Primary 2 developed their ‘grand designs’!
We were given the task of designing a suitable hibernation home for Harry the Hedgehog. It had to be strong, warm, comfortable and dark. We had been learning about natural and man-made materials too, so we decided to make the homes from natural materials. We sketched out plans and decided in groups which plans (or parts of plans) we liked best.
Here are some of our ideas:
On Thursday, we will be gathering materials and putting our plans into action!
Check in with us to see what else we have been learning this week!
Until then…
