Primary 7 Children in Need

P7 were given the challenge to design a new tee-shirt for Children in Need 2020. They had to incorporate yellow, spots or Pudsey bear. Their designs are fantastic. I think we have some budding designers of the future in P7 this year. Well done everyone!

Primary 2/1

This week Primary 2/1 learned all about how to stay safe around fireworks and  created firework pictures.  We first looked at videos and pictures of fireworks and talked about the colours we could see. We then drew lines with wet chalk on black paper to recreate fireworks bursting in the sky.

P4/3 The BFG and Multiplication

This week in P4/3 we have been reading The BFG by Roald Dahl and portraying these characters through drama. The three things we all know to do to be successful are; use big body actions; use facial expressions; and face the audience.

In maths this week we have been practising our 2 and 5 times tables. Firstly, we used counters and circles to group them, then we used cups to group our counters, and finally, we moved on to using picture clues to help us solve our questions.

Well done P4/3!

  • I uploaded pictures of the children’s work this week but they have not appeared yet. I will check back and see if this has worked.

A Spook-tacular Friday in P6

For Halloween, P6’s all dressed up in fantastic costumes including witches, wizards and angels (which the P6 children always are, of course…)

To celebrate, the children had the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts activities after break. In groups, children made pumpkin stress balls (some of which seem to have popped over the weekend – sorry!), meanwhile the rest of the class watched a Halloween movie and tucked into some treats.

Although Halloween looked a bit different this year, we made sure our Freaky Friday was full of fun and laughter!

Stay safe 🙂

Poppies

Poppies will be on sale in school from Tuesday 3rd November for a donation (50p suggested minimum).  These will be for the pupils to take home and should not be worn in school.  This will mean that pupils will not end up wearing the wrong poppy should one fall off their jumper.

In addition, poppy colouring in sheets will be on sale (50p suggested minimum donation) for pupils to take home to display on their windows if they wish.

Please note we are not able to give change.

In light of revised guidelines, our P7 pupils will no longer take part in laying our wreath at the war memorial.  Staff members will now do this instead.

Thank you for your continued support.

P2/1 Halloween Celebration

P2/1  had a great time on Friday for our Halloween celebration and put lots of effort into their costumes. The children all looked fantastic and were excited to show their costumes off to the other boys and girls in class.

We painted spooky spider pictures, designed our own pumpkins and had a party in class, with tasty treats and drinks.
