Today we invited Rev. Povey and our families along to our Easter Service.

Our brass players played some tunes for us.

P1-3 and P4-7 sang songs.

Primary 4 and Rev. Povey told us about the Easter Story.

We recognised the winners for the Spring Family Learning Task, and every child who took part got 3 Dojo points.

We gave out the West Lothian Competition Sumdog Awards.

A big thank you to Mrs Campbell and Mrs Dickie for organising the Service, and to the Rev. Povey for joining us. We all hope you have a lovely Easter holiday.

Thank you P7 Young Leaders!

A big thank you once again to our P7 Young Leaders who gave up their time to help with time-keeping at our Parent Consultations over the last two evenings. Tonight, Mrs Dickie’s children popped in for a visit and our Young Leaders gave them a very warm welcome to PUSCPS!

P7 Rotary Club Quiz

This week our P7s took part in the Rotary Club of Livingston’s Quiz. There was steep competition against Uphall and Broxburn Primary.

Thank you to the Rotary Club for organising this experience for us and a big well done to our team.

Thank you to our Vice Captains for welcoming our guests.

Euroquiz 2018

Yesterday, a team of four children from Primary 6 went with Mrs Dickie to Howden Park Centre where they took part in the West Lothian heats of the Scottish European Educational Trust Euroquiz 2018. There were 19 schools there in total! Andrew, Boe, Lauren and Callum represented PUSCPS and we were so impressed with how much of their own time they had used to learn about Europe. They answered four rounds of questions – geography, languages, European union and culture/sport/history of Europe.  Well done to them all for their hard work and enthusiasm! They were even joined for a photo by Mrs Dickie’s son, who was there with his school!

4-4-2 Reading Challenge

Livingston FC, West Lothian Youth Foundation, the SPFL Trust and Scottish Book Trust have teamed up to launch a pioneering pilot project, which aims to encourage kids to read.

The Lions are working in partnership with 14 SPFL clubs and local libraries, to deliver the 4-4-2 Reading Challenge which aims to inspire children aged 5-12 to read four books in exchange for match tickets.

The initiative centres on a reading “challenge card” which participating clubs and libraries will issue. For every book read, children will receive a stamp on their card.

When they have read four books, participants will receive a FREE match ticket for a home league match at The Tony Macaroni Arena, while an accompanying adult will be able to purchase a discounted ticket.

We are delighted to be part of this initiative, and our children are lucky they have a library on their doorstop. Our cards will be arriving this week and children can visit our Community Library at the times below to borrow a book and collect their card.

  • Monday: 2:00-5:00pm
  • Wednesday: 2:30 – 4:30pm
  • Thursday 2:00-6:00pm
