Repost: Fair Trade Dress Down Day

A reminder that our February dress down day will on Friday 8th March. We would request that if children chose to take part in the dress down day that they make a donation (usually £1) and this donation will go towards Fairtrade, as it is Fairtrade fortnight. The dress down day is free choice, remembering that  dress is appropriate for school, we would request no football colours (following West Lothian policy) and no midriff tops.

We are aware that this is the P1 Assembly Day but they can also take part in the dress down day.

P5 Lendrick Muir

Our P5s had an amazing time at camp last week.   Lots of new activities were tried and they all displayed excellent team work.  They were an absolute  pleasure to take on this exciting trip.  We hope you enjoy some of the highlights.

Fun Time Friday

Today we had Fun Time Friday. Fun Time Friday is an opportunity for all our children to select an activity that they are interested in and take part in it with peers across different classes. We had a range of activities to choose from which the children brainstormed at Pumphie Pals last session.

Pumphie Pals: Fairtrade

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight our Pumphie Pals session today had a Fairtrade theme.

First of all the children sorted statements which represented Fairtrade values and those that didn’t.

Then they had a Fairtrade quiz.

P6 Euro Quiz

Four of our Primary 6s joined schools across West Lothian at Howden Park this morning where they took part in the West Lothian heats of the Scottish European Educational Trust Euroquiz 2019. We were so impressed with how much of their own time they had used to learn about Europe. They answered four rounds of questions – geography, languages, European union and culture/sport/history of Europe. A big congratulations to our team!

Primary 2S takes the mail!

Primary 2S had a very responsible job today! They had to go to the Scotmid  post office to send the school’s pen pal letters to Magale school in Uganda. We hope to hear back from Magale school soon.

As we have been learning about food that is good for us in class, we decided to buy a healthy apple when we were there. We  had this for an afternoon snack after our busy writing lesson.
