Primary 6 Class Treat

As a thank you for all the additional responsibilities that Primary 6 have taken on this year (including being Nursery Buddies, helping out during wet break/lunch times and helping with school recycling) Miss Cave, Mrs Cullum and Mrs Cougan decided that they deserved a class treat. The class had great fun decorating fairy cakes and then enjoyed eating them while watching a movie of their choice. Have a look at their yummy creations in the photos below. Thank you very much for all your help throughout the school this year, Primary 6!

Gardening Competition

Special judges came to see our wonderful garden areas today. They were very impressed with all the hard work from Sarah-Jane and the gardening club. We will keep you posted about our progress!

Repost: P7 Celebration Arrangements

A gentle reminder about P7 arrangements, this information was previously issued to families.

P7 Celebration Assembly: Wednesday June 26th at 9:30am
– Children should wear a white shirt and their school tie. These are available from the office for families who need them.
– 9:10am: Tea and coffee for guests before the assembly.
– This is a ticketed event and each was entitled to 4 tickets which are available from the office.
– The gift received at this event is funded by the parent partners and the school.

P7 Celebration Disco: Thursday 27th June at 6:30pm
– This is a ticketed event, costing £5 and they should be purchased before the event.
– The theme for the event is “Hawaii”.
– The money raised by Primary 7 at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party along with the money raised from Parent Partners will cover the rest of the cost for this event.
– 6:30pm: Photo booth opportunity in the dinner hall for families and friendship groups.
– 6:55pm: Families leave and disco begins. Children will have pizza, buffet and a surprise during the disco.
– 9:00pm: Children promptly collected by an adult.

Mrs Irvine-Holliday has kindly agreed to attend both events to take some photos with her professional camera, we would request that families do not take photos.

House and Vice Captain Afternoon Tea

This week during our Junior Leadership Teams meetings, Miss Burton had prepared an afternoon tea to celebrate the leadership skills of our house and vice captains. We shared our favourite memories of the year, and our hopes for the future. It was lovely to hear them talk so positively about their Primary 7 experience and how they hope they have the same opportunities at high school.

A big thank you from Miss Burton for your leadership, support and laughs over the year, I really will miss you!

Celebration Assembly Term 4

On Friday we had our final celebration of the year.

Anna and Holly past pupils from PUSCPS, currently at Broxburn Academy, joined us to tell us about their achievement journey. It was fantastic to hear about all the opportunities that Broxburn Academy gives to children. We are very proud of all Anna and Holly’s achievements, thank you for joining us.

Congratulations to our Top Scorers!

STEM Superstars are those children who have made fantastic progress or achievements in science, technologies or maths.

Awesome Authors are those children who have made fantastic progress or achievements in writing.

Ross Logan our Active schools co-coordinator joined us to give out some medals. First of all to those children who attend our after school clubs, the coaches nominated them for an award.

Secondly he gave medals to our fantastic basketball team for the progress they have made this year.

Jack received Most Valuable Player because of his determination, positive attitude, willingness to work hard and because he has been a great team player. Lauren received Most Improved Player, for being to shoe great basketball skills and a positive attitude towards training. We also presented Mrs Hamilton with a gift for being such an inspiring coach.

IDL is a new literacy programme, some children have been using this session to support learning in literacy. Children who have reached milestones in this received certificates.

We recognised those children who took part in the West Lothian Triathlon.

We presented Eve with an award for her piece of writing which is now representing our cluster at the West Lothian Stellar Awards.

Mrs Montgomery received a West Lothian Leadership Award for completing her Early Years Officer course.

This week was the West Lothian Sumdog Competition. P3, P6 nd P5 ranked in the score board and some of our children ranked within the top 100 out of 2097 children!
