P3 Weekly Update

This week have enjoyed learning more about our topic – ‘On Our Doorstep’. We continued our learning from last week where we learned about the different types of house within the local area. We used our plans to help us create a model house. We explored what the term ‘renewable energy’ was and what we could add to our houses to help them become more eco-friendly.

We added wind turbines, solar panels and a well.

Primary 4

This week in Primary 4 we have been exploring our feelings through the emotion woks programme. So far we have thought about all the different words we can use to descibe how we are feeling (the orange cog) and how certain emotions physically feel in our bodies (the red cog).

Well done to this weeks certificate winners – Alfie and Reece.

Well done to our achievement assembly winners – Lucy and Scarlett (for their fantastic SHANARRI powerpoint) and Isabella (for her fantastic piece of free writing).

P3 Weekly Update

This week we have been focusing on learning our common words. We have been completing active learning tasks to help us with doing this.

In numeracy, we have been focusing on our knowledge of number bonds using Numicon and number lines. In maths, we have been recapping our knowledge of time where we focused on telling o’clock and half past on an analogue clock. We used many interactive resources to help us with this.

Well done to our certificate winners this week – Hanna and Aiden.

Well done to our achievement assembly winners this week also – Tyler and Hanna.

Well done triangles decals for furniture - TenStickers

P6 weekly summary

This week in topic, we have been learning about the difference between refugees, asylum-seekers, migrants and internally displaced  people.

In maths, we have been learning about angles with Mrs. Harrison. We learned about acute, right, obtuse, straight and reflex angles.

In numeracy with Miss. Fleming, we have been doing place value, exploring 4, 5, 6 and 7 digit numbers and their values.

In literacy, we are learning how to write descriptively, by using PM writing. We are reading the boy at the back of the class and working on comprehension and predicting skills.

Primary 4 Class Charter

To create our class charter we first learned about the UNCRC rights of the child. We then picked out all of the ones we felt were relevant to us in school and took a vote on which ones we wanted for our charter.

We chose articles 12, 16, 29 and 39 and are aware of what they mean for us as rights holders as well as the responsibility of adults as duty bearers.

Primary 7 Class Charter

We spent a lot of time considering which articles, from the UN convention of the rights of a child, were most suited to us in school.

We read the articles.

Highlighted the one that applied to us in school/class.

We considered the most important to us.

We then thought how we as Rights Holders could keep these rights and how the adults  as Duty Bearers, can help us maintain our rights.
