Our Christmas Fayre on Friday was a great success. Â Thank you for all of your good humour and generosity making it such a success. Â We will have an update soon with the total raised for the PSFA school fund.
A huge thank you for everyone who helped out including many new members of the PSFA who were fantastic at their first event and we look forward to working with them on many more.
If you want to be involved in your child’s school, helping out the PSFA is a great way to do that.
This week, Primary 5 put on their political hats and got debating!
We had recently been assigned to political parties (SNP, Labour, Liberal Democrat, Conservative and Green), chosen our party roles (Education, Employment, Health, Trade and Housing) and written our party manifestos. Next, it was time to debate (in role) in our version of the debating chamber at Holyrood!
It was tough work, especially with Miss Polly McIver as the Presiding Officer, but each party debated so well!. They were able to answer key questions in role, give reasons to support answers and say if they agreed/disagreed with another party member. Miss McLaughlin hasn’t had so much fun in years!

As part of our anti-bullying focus in school this week, Primary 1 have been learning about what bullying is and how we can get help if we are affected by it.  We made a poster to show ways to stop bullying.
Sophie-Rose: I would tell them to stop and if that doesn’t work, I would tell an adult.
Kian: I would tell the teacher and my Mum and Dad.
As part of our anti-bullying week, P6 have been discussing how to stand up to bullying. We thought about strategies for standing up for ourselves and also for standing up for others. P6 then shared their learning with the P3 class as a way of helping others stand up to bullying.
The P6s did a great job of talking to P3 about their strategies and showed that they have great potential as next year’s P7 buddies! Mrs Cullum was also very impressed with how well the P3s did when talking to the older children about bullying.
Well done to P6 and P3.
Every week teachers select one or two pupils in their class who have an achievement to celebrate. If pupils have successes from home to share they can do this at assembly on Tuesday or singing practice on Thursday. Â Where possible, we try to post some photos of these achievements.

Primary 1Â had a visit from Officer McCartney who is our Community Police Officer. We found out lots of interesting things about how he helps people in his job. After his visit, we drew and labelled some of the important items he carries with him everyday to help him in his work.
Thank you to everyone who came to see our assembly! We hope you had as much fun watching it as we did performing it.
