4-4-2 Reading Challenge

Livingston FC, West Lothian Youth Foundation, the SPFL Trust and Scottish Book Trust have teamed up to launch a pioneering pilot project, which aims to encourage kids to read.

The Lions are working in partnership with 14 SPFL clubs and local libraries, to deliver the 4-4-2 Reading Challenge which aims to inspire children aged 5-12 to read four books in exchange for match tickets.

The initiative centres on a reading “challenge card” which participating clubs and libraries will issue. For every book read, children will receive a stamp on their card.

When they have read four books, participants will receive a FREE match ticket for a home league match at The Tony Macaroni Arena, while an accompanying adult will be able to purchase a discounted ticket.

We are delighted to be part of this initiative, and our children are lucky they have a library on their doorstop. Our cards will be arriving this week and children can visit our Community Library at the times below to borrow a book and collect their card.

  • Monday: 2:00-5:00pm
  • Wednesday: 2:30 – 4:30pm
  • Thursday 2:00-6:00pm

Cluster London Trip

On Monday 12th March Miai and Jessica, two of our house captains in P7 joined our other cluster schools to attend the Commonwealth Games Ceremony at Westminster in London.

Thank you to Broxburn Academy for inviting us along and a special thank you to Ms Henderson (Head Teacher at Kirkhill Primary) and Mrs Fawkes (Head Teacher at Uphall Primary School) for putting together such an exciting programme of events for the children and for looking after our girls. This is definitely something they will remember for many years to come.
