The first thing we did at Pumphie Pals was to identify which jobs and careers require skills and knowledge for each of the STEM areas.
Then we used information from British Science Week to have our own paper planes competition.

This week in Pumhie Pals the focus was our playground
We made a list of new toys and equipment we would like for the different zones in our playground.
We looked at different playground scenarios and how the people involved felt. We also thought about how some of the scenarios could be prevented or resolved.
Breich selected a Neon Party for receiving the most house points in term 2. Callum and Kamillia created a fin morning of musical status and bumps, greatest dancer and glow corners. Everyone also had fun dancing with their glow sticks. Thank you to all the P7s in Breich who helped to lead the party.

As Breich were the winning House last term, we have organised a ‘Neon Party’  on Friday 11th January. Children can come to school dressed in bright clothes for the party on Friday. If they have glow sticks or neon/ light accessories children can bring these to the party. A glow bracelet will be provided at the party.

Michelle Quinn from Almond Engineering came along to share with us her achievement of receiving West Lothian Business Woman of the Year. She told us about how she worked hard at school and started with Almond Engineering 12 years ago and worked her way up in the company.
Our Dojo top scorers received a gift voucher.
Michelle presented our STEM Superstars with an award for their achievements in Science, Maths, Engineering and Maths.
Our Awesome Authors received an award for achievements in writing.
Our Basketball Team and Choir also received special awards.
Moira, our librarian had reading awards for children 12 books in 12 days, and for reading their first book.
One of our P4s received a head teacher award for performing in the Panto at Bathgate Regal.
Cozy Corner drew their raffle. Congratulations to Breich for earning the most house points in term 2, they will receive their treat at the start of next term.
As Almond received the most house points this term they organised a Pyjama Party to celebrate their success.
Jack and Lauren organised a range of party games, dancing and a shopping list of party food.
Congratulations to Almond on their success and to the P7s in Almond for organising and running the party.
As Almond is the House Winner this term the house have decided on a Pyjama Party to celebrate their achievement. This will take place on Wednesday 10th October in the afternoon.  If your child is in Almond they can bring pyjamas/ onesie (please no football pyjamas) to school on Wednesday to change into for the party.
Congratulations to all our P7 children who took part in the House Captain Election, we had a very high standard of entries this year.

Today our classes shared at assembly what are school values mean to them. There was presentations, posters and singing.
Thank you to the families who came along to join us, and the children and staff for their preparation for the assembly.
