CAMP!!!

P7 are having a ball at Dalguise! Forest hikes, Giant swings, abseiling, to name a few. Everyone has slept, eaten well and had showers!!  We have lots more pictures and stories to share with you tomorrow.

Primary 7

P7 were lucky to have a school trip on their first day back after Easter.  They visited the Risk Factory on Tuesday.

I’m afraid we can’t share anymore with you as what goes on there is a bit of a secret however we learned lots while having great fun!

China – A World Away

P7 have been learning all about the weather in China and comparing it to our own in Scotland.  We used our maths skills by  looking at some graphs to find out about the amount of average rainfall and temperatures in a year.   We then learned through drama by creating a weather report comparing China and Scotland.  Jake was very good at miming weathers.

Here are some things we found out:

China is very cold in January and February and can reach minus 10.

In Scotland, rainfall is quite steady – we generally always have some rain in a month!

China’s summer is much hotter than ours but it’s very rainy too! Pack an umbrella and shades for Chinese summer months!

We noticed that China is closer to the equator than Scotland so that explains why it reaches higher temperatures and has more rainfall at times.

Pumpherston & Uphall Station’s Got Talent!

P7 have been busy in school and at home preparing for next weeks class assembly.  You are in for a treat.  An afternoon of musical, dance, maths and sports talent!

We have also been working hard learning about classifying angles, estimating them and then trying to measure using a protractor.  We made posters about the different angles for homework.  It’s quite tricky trying to use a protractor at first.

Look out for some photos next week.

P7 are on Didbook!

Busy on the Netbooks!

Primary 7 have been busy updating their new Didbook profiles.  Didbook has taken over from our reflective diaries where we can think and write about our learning.  W e created targets last week and are all trying hard to achieve them.

P7 technologies

Today we were making 3d bridges out of Lego or KNEX. It had to be 6cm of the base and you had to make sure it could fit 3 car toys on it. We found hard at the start because it kept falling apart, so we had to make it more strong and stable. We had to work in partners of our choice and had to aggree on what materials we were going to use and how we were going to lay it out.
