Letter from NHS Lothian Public Health

Please see below a letter from the NHS Public Health with advice about playground pick up and Covid 19 symptoms. This advice has already been issued by us on several occasions, please take time to read over it to ensure you are adhering to the guidance in order to try and keep us all safe and follow our risk assessments.
We appreciate your continued support during this time.

Primary 7 – BYOD

If your child is taking part in the bring your own device initiative we request that they please download the following free apps at home:
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft One Drive
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft One Note
  • Microsoft Powerpoint
They can log into these apps with their glow log in. The first time they log in it will require them to use wl(their username)@glow.sch.uk and their glow password.
We would also request that they download the Sumdog and Kahoot apps.
Thanks for your support.

Dress Down Day Totals

Fantastic totals for our recent dress down day – congratulations to Breich who will receive 100 extra house points! Thank you to everyone who contributed this money will be used to support our Sumdog subscription for this session.

Nursery – Primary 3 Phone calls

Thank you for using the online system to sign up to a phone call from your child’s teacher.
Just a few reminders about this process:
  • You will receive a call from a withheld number.
  • Please ensure you are available at your allocated time slot so you don’t miss your call.
  • Please try to stick to your 10 minute appointment so that other families receive their call at the correct time.

Pump Track

West Lothian Council have alerted us that children and young people using the Pump Track have been digging up the surrounding area to try and make the ramps bigger. Obviously this is a health and safety risk as the Pump Track has been specially designed.  If your child uses the Pump Track can you please discuss this with them.

Dress Dress Down – 25/09/2020

A reminder that Friday 25th September is a dress down day. If your child takes part in the dress down day we would please request that they make a donation, as it will be used to support our purchasing of Sumdog for this session.
As always, please no football colours or crop tops.
We will let you know which house raised the most money on Monday 28th September (after the donations have been quarantined).

Nursery – Primary 3 Parent/ Carer Phonecalls

As previously mentioned Nursery to Primary 3 will have phone call as their term 1 parent consultation. Primary 4 – 7 children will receive a written report on 7th October.

In order for you to book a slot we will use the online booking system for parent appointments which we have previously used.

This system can only send invitations to the main contact for the child which has been recorded on SEEMIS and we request that they make the appointment. To make your appointments please go to: https://parents-booking.co.uk/pumpherston

Please note: You need to type this address into your website browser’s ‘web address bar’.
Try not to ‘Google’ search the website address, it will not be searchable that way.

Login by entering the requested information, and then use the Booking Wizard to make your appointments.

You will need to enter:

  • Your title (Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms) and surname
  • Your child’s first name, surname and date of birth

Please note: The login details you enter must match those we have on record for you. If you have not alerted the school to any relevant name changes, we will be expecting you to login with the details you gave us original. The booking system will allow you to make bookings from 17th September 2020 at 6.00pm and will close for bookings on 24th September at 1pm.

Once you have logged in, we suggest you use the ‘Booking Wizard’ to make your appointments, although a manual booking option (one booking at a time, one child at a time) also exists.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you cannot login and have tried all the combinations you think we have on file, please contact the school office using the e-mail address at the top of the login page.
  • The email address you can enter is only used to receive a confirmation of your appointment. It will not be used as a login ‘check’. Your e-mail address is never the reason you cannot login.
  • If you have several children to make bookings for, and decide not to use the Booking Wizard, you can make appointments one-by-one using the ‘manual booking’ method. Use the ‘Change Child’ button on the blue bar (above the school’s name, at the top of the web page) to swap between your children.

If you are unable to book at home, please contact the school office for help.

Primary 1-4 Playground Pick Up

We hope you all managed to have a lovely September Break and enjoy some of the sunshine.
As you know on our return in August we introduced a range of measures to try and keep our children, parent/ carers and staff safe in our playground at pick up times. Can I please remind you of these measures.
Primary 1-4 playground pick up:
  • Please distance 2m from other adults and children
  • Only one family member should enter the playground
  • We advise that you wear a mask when entering the playground
  • Please do not loiter in the playground or on the school premises after you have collected your child
  • All children should be collected by 3:15pm, in the event of an emergency please phone the school office.
I appreciate your support and for taking a collective responsibility to ensure we follow through with these measures to help keep everyone safe.
