Symptoms

  • Please don’t send your child to school with symptoms which may be coronavirus (a new persistent cough, and/or a high temperature, and/or a loss or change in taste or smell).
  • If your child or anyone in your household has symptoms you should ALL stay at home.Find out how to organise a COVID test on NHS Inform or phone 0800 028 2816. If your child has symptoms but tests negative they can return to school once they have had no symptoms for 48 hours and are feeling better. Please show the office the negative test result. This helps monitor cases and keeps the school community safe and reassured. Your child should stay at home whilst they are waiting for test results.
  • If you return from an area with quarantine restrictions keep your child off school and stay at home for 14 days. A negative COVID test will not shorten quarantine as it doesn’t show if you or your child will develop the virus. Updated travel information is on gov.scot
  • When you phone our office to report your child’s absence we will ask if your child or anyone in the house have symptoms and remind you of the NHS guidance.

We will continue to update our school blog with information and updates about learning in your child’s class: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/wl/puscpsnews/

End of Term 1

It has been fantastic welcoming all our children back and we have had a settled, calm and fun start to the new school year. As we approach the end of term 1, I wanted to express my thanks to you for supporting us to ensure our return to school was safe. Thank you for your patience as we refined routines in line with changing and updated guidance.
Just a reminder that the school is now closed until Wednesday 21st October for the October holidays. We will continue to offer take away school lunches to those who are entitled to free school schools between 12:00-1:30pm each day (Monday-Friday) from the dinner hall. If your child is making use of this service please ensue their rubbish goes in the bin and isn’t left lying on the school grounds. The main school office will be closed, meaning there is no access to our main school phone number or email.
Our nursery is open during the October holidays as normal. Please phone 01506 280997 to report an absence or in an emergency. If your child is absent, please phone between 8:00-9:00am. If your child is going to be absent in the afternoon please phone between 1:15-2:00pm. (The previous issue with the phone has now been resolved).
I hope the sun keeps shinning like it is today and you manage to enjoy the October holidays.
Kind regards,
Miss Burton

Primary 1-3 Seesaw

It is on our records that some parent/ carers have not signed the permission slip for your child to use Seesaw. We are hoping to use this platform in term 2 for your child to share their home learning with us.
This platform is the equivalent of the nursery online learning journals and Primary 4-7 using Teams for learning in school and at home. With that in mind we would like as many of our children signed up as possible. Please ensure you return your permission slip by the end of the week so we can issue you with your child’s log in. If you require a new permission slip please let our office staff know.
For those of you who have returned the permission slip please check your child’s school bag for an envelope with an instruction sheet about how to log in. Currently we do not have any content on their Seesaw account – this will come in term 2.

P1-7 Passwords for Home Learning Tasks (Homework)

As we are currently not using homework diaries your child will come home this week with a laminated sheet with the log in and passwords they require to access different online platforms.
For Primary 1-7 this will include Sumdog login.
Primary 4-7 will receive their glow username. Due to regulations we are not able to share their glow password, children should know their password. If at anytime they need it reset they can ask their teacher or you can request it through the office email.
Primary 5-7 will also have their Didbook log in.
If your child is in Primary 1-3 and you have returned the See Saw permission form they will receive instructions explaining how to sign up this week. If you have not returned the permission slip can you please do this as soon as possible so that we can issue you with a log in.
Please ensure they keep these log ins in a safe place at home, they also have a copy at school.
Home learning choice boards (homework) will resume after October Break. Primary 1-3 will share their learning via Seesaw and Primary 4-7 children will share their tasks via their class team. More information about this will follow in the new term.

Breakfast Club

A gentle reminder that all Primary 1 -7 children are welcome to join us for Breakfast Club each morning. It starts at 8:10am,we would request that you do not send your children prior to this time as they will have to wait outside unsupervised. The doors to Breakfast Club close at 8:30am, so please ensure your child arrives before then.
