Keeping Safe Nursery Blog
We used a talking box this week in nursery to talk about keeping ourselves safe at home. We discussed things we should not touch and looked closely at household items and photographs of objects. Our knowledge of our personal safety is continuing to develop.
Here are some of our comments:
Emily: “My mummy puts the plugs in. You would get electricity”.
Demilouize:Â “You would maybe get ‘electricitied'”.
Lucy:Â “You would get a shock”.
Zachary: “Those are sharp. They are so sharp you might cut your finger”.
Millie: “If you touch hot water it will burn you”.
Grace: “Hair straighteners are hot”.
Callum:Â (Kettle) “You would burn your hands”.
Sara: ” You can burn yourself”. (Scissors) – ” Big ones for adults, you can cut your fingers.
Kiannah:Â “The red ones are much sharper”.
Heidi: ” We get safe cos we don’t want anything to happen”.

Book bug visiting nursery children
Scottish Book Trust Bookbug visits nursery
The nursery children enjoyed their ‘Bookbug’ day yesterday. They sang songs, played a singing game and Mrs Dickie read them a story. Afterwards the children had a special visitor from the Scottish Book Trust – Bookbug himself came to visit. The children then received their book bug bags to take home and enjoy reading with an adult.
