Primary 1

P1 have been learning some simple Italian phrases as part of our focus on Languages this week. We also found out about popular Italian foods and made our own pizza and pasta on paper plates!

As part of our Toys topic this week, we had a special visitor in school from the Toy Museum who brought in old toys for us to learn about and play with. We had great fun!

Tyler: I have hundreds of hot wheels and they are made of metal.

Finlay: I like to play with building blocks.

Primary 1’s busy week!

We have been learning our first letter sounds in class and can already make some words! Next week we get to take our sounds home so we can practise our word building. Here is what some of the children said about this week.

Layla: I liked building words on the magnetic boards.

One of our P2 pupils Tatiana is from Poland and she was a great teacher, helping the class to learn the Polish words for yes/no, hello/goodbye and cat/dog. Thank you Tatiana!

Primary 3 Cultural Diversity Week

As part of Cultural Diversity Week Primary 3 have been comparing the daily routines of children in Scotland, Brazil, India and Russia. We finished off the week with some food tasting. We all enjoyed the different Indian food we tried, although some of the boys and girls found it a bit too spicy!

Our fundraising will go towards buying beds for the children in the orphanage and to buy books for the school library. There is an article on our fundraising in the West Lothian Courier this week. Thank you to all of the children and parents for your support with our Magale fundraising initiative.
