P2 – Learning about Scotland

As part of their Scots focus, Primary 2 has been looking at the work of Scottish Artist, Charles Rennie Macintosh. The class created a pencil drawing of the famous rose design by the artist.

We have also been reading a Scottish book about a cat who lives in Morningside called “What Maisie did next” by the author, Eileen Paterson.  We were able to identify Scottish vocabulary in the text and the class designed a new kilt for Maisie to wear!

The children all performed their Scots poems in class, speaking clearly and confidently. Well done to Emma and Iona, who have been chosen to perform their poems at the Scots Assembly tomorrow. Good luck!
