Harvest Assembly

This morning we had our annual harvest assembly.  We were joined by our special guest, Mr Povey, who told us a story about the true meaning of harvest time.

P5 were excellent, telling the whole school and our parents/carers all about when and why we celebrate at this time.  Club Wild also presented and shared their learning with us and had lots of fresh vegetables to sell.

A huge thank you to all of our pupils, parents and carers for donating so generously to our West Lothian Food Bank collection.  We hope to continue supporting this very worthy charity throughout the year.

New Bike Track Meeting

All parents/carers are welcome to attend a consultation meeting with Velosolutions, the company building the new bike track at Fraser Park.

Come along and find out how a pump track works, hear the plans and offer feedback.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday 9th October, 5.30-6.30 in the gym hall.

Calling All Budding Artists!

A free workshop is available to pupils on Sunday 7th October between 11.00 and 4.00 in Edinburgh to mark the end of Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018 (www.yoyp2018.scot).

The project is being run by Underbelly and #ScotArt and is based on what young people living in the 14 regions of Scotland love about their region and what makes their region unique.

The workshop will consist of a discussion session, a series of activities and a creative session led by a Lead Artist and Young Artist.

To book a place contact bruce@underbelly.co.uk.

Library After School Club – 13/09/18

Last week at Library Club we  looked at The World Around Us.

Moira read ‘Is a Blue Whale the biggest thing there is? by Robert E. Wells. It is a great book which showed how big things to us, like the largest animal in the world, the blue whale, are small compared to much bigger things, like mountains and stars and even the universe!

Did you know that a if you were to hollow out Mount Everest, the biggest mountain on our planet, you could fill it with billions of blue whales.

We then made owl light switch covers that will help us to remember to switch off our lights and think of what we can do to help this amazing world around us!

This week in library club we are exploring sharing. Come along to share a story.
