Scot’s Week in P2
This week P2 welcomed storyteller Paraig McNeil who told us lots of Scottish stories. We learned about tartan and foods and Scottish tradition.
At home we have been learning Scot’s songs and poems. I am happy that so many in the class had the confidence to recite these in front of all the other pupils.
Well done to Iona and Jacob who were voted to recite their poems at the Assembly.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from P2C
Book Week Scotland with P2C and P2S
This week P2 were gifted a Read Write Count bag each with lots of goodies for numeracy and literacy. Each pupil received their own copy of ‘Open Very Carefully’ by Nick Bromley and ‘A Tale of Two Beasts’ by Fiona Robertson as well as a snakes and ladders game and finger puppets.
P2C and P2S came together along with visiting parents to roleplay with the puppets, play the game and to make their own beast masks.
It was great to see so many people playing, making and reading together.
Playing with Shapes! -P2C
P2C have been playing with 2D shapes this week. We have been sorting the shapes by counting their corners and by counting how many sides there are.
We started with circles, squares, triangles and rectangles but now we can name rhombuses, pentagons, hexagons and octagons!
Using this learning we will move on to lines of symmetry.
Active Learning in P2C!
P2C have been actively engaging with learning their spelling. We have been reading, saying and writing our spelling words in fun ways such as magnetic letters, painting letters, making sentences with blocks and beads, rainbow writing, word pyramids, colourful writing and lots more.
I was very impressed by how focused the whole class were and the many interesting words the pupils came up with.
