Today was a big day for our School choir as we were out and about, giving 2 performances in the local community. Â This morning we were entertaining the staff, patients and visitors at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, and helping to raise money for The Friends of St John’s Hospital. Â We were very pleased to see members of our fan club who had come along on such a wet and windy day to watch us and listen to our singing. We also took Alfie the Elf for some extra Christmas magic – he was very well behaved. Â Thank you to the Friends of St Johns for inviting us, and for giving us juice and biscuits (not figgy pudding) during our break.
The visit to sing at St John’s was made possible by a donation given by Dobbies Garden Centre as a goodwill gesture after our performance there was cancelled last year. Â The money has been held for use by the choir and paid part of the hire price of our tour bus.
This afternoon we walked through rain, wind and sleet to sing at the Pumpherston Golf Club, entertaining guests invited to a Christmas party by the Pumpherston Community Council. Â (This time we even had a dressing room! Will it be the Usher hall next year?)Â They were a very appreciative audience, giving us many rounds of applause and joining in on several songs especially our grande finale, Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer. We would like to thank the Community council for inviting us to sing and being so friendly. Â Thank you also to Pumpherston Golf club for the juice which helped our hard working voices to recover.
The next singing events here at school will be the P2 and 3 singalong in the morning of Wednesday 17th, and the P1 and P1/2 nativity in the afternoon on the same day. Â Remember everyone is also welcome to our whole school singalong (bring your Christmas hat!) at 9.30 on Tuesday 23rd December- the last day of term.
