We had a Seder meal today – we had kind of the same food the Jewish people would eat. It was very tasty. We tasted parsley and bitter herbs (horse radish) , matzo bread, salt water and charoset (mixed chopped apples and cinnamon). Â We drank juice instead of wine. The Seder meal is eaten at Passover to celebrate Jewish freedom from slavery.
Primary 3 Chefs
Primary 3 have been learning how to prepare healthy food, and trying new tastes in class. Â Last week’s team made a delicious cous cous salad with a range of vegetables. This week the team of chefs made a refreshing fruit salad. Â Any ideas of other simple recipes we can try, which will help us learn how to chop, cut, peel and grate?
Red Nose Day
We had lots of funny faces in school today, as part of our mission to raise money for Comic Relief on Red nose Day.
Both Bake sales ran out of stock before they ran out of customers, raising almost £100 from the sale of cupcakes, macaroons and rocky road.  Here are some pictures of the new members of staff on duty today:
We’ll add more pictures and the final total of the money raised next week! Well done everyone, you looked very funny!
P6 had a special guest.
Last Wednesday P6 were privileged to have a visit from Rev. Povey. We had invited him along to interview him about the Bible, our current RME topic, and to find out a bit about him and his job.
Look in the comments from P6 to see what we learned!
‘Thank you’ from The Friends of St John’s Hospital
We received a lovely thank you card in the post from the Friends of St John’s Hospital, thanking us for our contribution to their fundraising. Our choir sang Christmas Carols in the foyer of St John’s on December 9th and £108.10 was raised during our singing! The charity is dedicated to promoting the comfort and welfare of patients, staff and visitors at St John’s hospital in Livingston.  Our support will help them to provide services throughout St John’s for the benefit of all patients, staff and visitors.
We are very proud to be able to help such a worthwhile cause in our local community. Well done to the choir for singing so well!

West Lothian Courier Wishes came true!
Great news today – the West Lothian Courier Wish community cash giveaway have given us a cheque for £99.32 for Pumpherston and Uphall Station PSFA!
The amount was in proportion to the number of Wish tokens collected form the newspaper late last year. Â Thank you again to everyone who took part and donated tokens to our box, and thanks also to the Courier for their donation.
Pancake Day in Primary 1 and 1/2
We watched a pancake movie of how to make the pancakes.(Junior) Â In the movie it showed you how to make the pancakes, you put sugar, milk and eggs in it. (Lilly)Â Â You leave them on the frying pan for a little minute then you turn the other bit on so the pancakes are not all saucy. (Lewis) They turn brown on one side, then when it’s brown you flip it over on to the other side. (Mischa)
We had a try of the pancakes. (Jessica) We took our pancake and passed the plate round. (Ellie)
People make pancakes with milk, butter and sugar and egg to use it up before the 40 days then at Easter they eat eggs again. (Rosa and Amber)
We made a graph of our favourite pancake toppings. Â We wrote a list of different flavours then we voted for our favourite. Â We coloured in then we could see the numbers. (Abbie) The butter was the winner on our graph. (Kyle)
