Government Information on achievement in the Broad General Education

For the first time last session (2015/2016)  the Scottish Government collected information from all primary schools in Scotland on progress within the Broad General Education of Curriculum for Excellence.
Schools were asked to show where pupils had achieved the expected level.  These levels are:
  • early level by the end of P1
  • first level by the end of P4
  • second level by the end of P7

This data is now available online for every school in Scotland.  It can be accessed by clicking here: Achievement of Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) Levels, 2015/16

Our results are shown in the image below.  For us these are not just numbers on a grid, for behind each number is an individual boy or girl with their own strengths and weaknesses, successes and challenges whom we work with every day to support and develop.   These results reflect what we already know about our school and help us identify priorities for improvement going forward.

NOTE TO USERS FROM THE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE:
The “Achievement of CfE Levels” information included in this dashboard is the first set of achievement data for the Broad General Education to be collected and published.  As with many new collections of data, this data requires further development, before its accuracy and quality can be guaranteed.
Therefore, caution must be applied in interpreting the data on this dashboard.  Comparisons between schools within and across authorities should not be made without knowledge of the underlying approach to assessment and the context of the authority or school.  The data on this dashboard does not provide detail on these factors.
