It has been another quick week in Primary 6 – perhaps we are so engaged with our learning. Here are a few highlights:
Health & Wellbeing
We are still learning about different substances. This week we were learning more about alcohol and the different ways that alcohol companies advertise their products. We talked about adverts that appeal to children and young adults, and why there needs to be rules against this. We talked about adverts that make alcohol seem fun and exciting and why it is important to protect children and teenagers from being influenced by these adverts.
Miss Anderson set us a challenge to advertise a new type of alcohol called Bam. Bam is a sugary, sweet cocktail that is bright pink and has a yellow label. We had to decide what group of people we should advertise to. Most of us decided that this product should be aimed at young adults aged between 20 and 26. Here are a few of our adverts.
There is not a dry eye in the class this afternoon because we performed our assembly to say thank-you and goodbye to Miss Speirs. we really are going to miss her LOADS! We did have fun shaking it off though.
Our footballers are looking forward to the match this afternoon.
Class Dojo – Emma C is still our high scorer with 71 points. This week our high scorers was Nia with 15 points. Nia became the first person in the whole country to add her work to the National Glow Gallery. Here is her poster.
We hope everyone has a good, and safe, weekend. Hopefully everyone will have stopped crying by Monday!
