Below is a link to the Primary 4 Teams Guide. I know our Files section is not working for some people this morning so take time this morning to read through this and if Teams is still a bit slow then log in to Sumdog as I have set an assessment for you there.

Good Morning P1R, P1C and P2/1C

Good Morning Primary 1 and Primary 2/1. Happy new year to you all! We hope you have had a lovely holiday and  lots of fun playing in the snow!

Here is our first daily timetable of the week. This week we will post all activities on the school blog and next week move over to seesaw.

P1 Daily Timetable

Today we are going to have a little look at our single sounds. Below is an initial sound activity for you to complete. Discuss the pictures with an adult and circle the correct sound that each picture begins with. Can you think of anymore words beginning with that letter?

Primary 2 Challenge:

Can you create some simple sentences using the pictures.

For example: The apple is red.

Parents/Guardian:

Below are some ‘Parent’s Guides’ to explain the literacy programme that we use in Harrysmuir a little further. Please have a little look over these and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Holiday Calendar

We have created a calendar to help explain our Christmas holiday dates in an easy to understand format for pupils who might benefit from seeing the holiday period in a visual format.  To download this, simply click on the picture below.  We have also included another resource that we have come across explaining the concept of ‘Christmas bubbles’ in an easy to read format using symbols.  (Who would have thought this time last year that we would be posting about Christmas bubbles, social distancing, face coverings, tiers and all the other new terms that we have had to learn this year!)

P3A

Good Morning P3A.

I hope you are all well. 🙂

It’s Remembrance day today. Usually we would be having a minutes silence in school at 11.15 am to remember this. I thought since we weren’t in school today, we could do something else instead to help us remember.

Challenge: Try to find items around your house to create your own poppy.

(You could use lots of red objects you find around your house or make your very own poppy using recycled materials in your house.)

Click on the link below and see what the Poppy looks like.

Remembrance Day Poppy

If you create your own poppy, you can upload a picture of it onto Seesaw or tell me about what you have made.

I can’t wait to see what you all come up with 🙂
