Bonfire Night and Fireworks Safety.
This week we have been creative with glitter, paint and colour tabs to create various firework pictures and effects…
“We shook glitter into the water and mixed all the colours together!” …. “We threw the glitter up in the air and pretended it was fireworks.” ….. “We watched in fall down and sprinkle onto the water.” ….. ” It was great fun making firework sounds!”….. “We put colour tabs into the water and watched them dissolve, the water turned blue, red, green and orange then black!”
We have also been learning about the important messages from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and how we can keep ourselves safe when at fireworks displays.
Please see the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Safety Advice to ensure you have a safe Bonfire night!
Did you know that sparklers get five times hotter than cooking oil? Sparklers are not toys and should never be given to a child under five?

Summer Garden Fete Fun.
Yesterday we had our Summer Garden Fete. It was a lovely sunny day and lots of families came to have fun, win prizes and eat some yummy home baking. At the end the boys and girls sang the nursery Eco Song. Over £500 was raised for school funds! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this event.
Please have a look at the photos and videos below you – might recognise some familiar characters!
Red Nose Day at BEYC
Today we are learning all about how Red Nose Day helps others less fortunate. In nursery we heard Haja, a little girl from Sierra Leon in Africa. Haja lived beside a smelly, dirty, dangerous rubbish dump before a project funded by Red Nose Day was able to help.
This is the poem all about Haja we are playing on the Smartboard, please have a look at home.
