Look Out!

Have you spotted the Eco friendly stencils around Bathgate Early Years Centre and onto the cycle path? These were organised by  Jim McGladrigan Education & Engagement Officer, from the Cleaner Communities Team following on from our recent Eco nursery meeting and to support our involvement in the Wrigley Litter Less Campaign. Launch date Monday 21st January.

Please tweet or email any photographs of you and the stencils

Water Week 19th – 25th November

Water is one of our Eco topics that we are working on in nursery this session and we have been learning about the different uses of water, where it comes from and how we can save water.  We took part in many water based activities during our WATER WEEK this week, including recycling, drinking, measuring, washing, watering plants and playing with water outside as well as hearing about the water cycle.  We look forward to seeing your Water Surveys and Water drawings when they are returned to nursery next week when we will issue out certificates. (Emailed photos are also welcome) A big thank you to everyone who took part in these ‘Try at Home’ activities. Thanks also to Tracey the Community Champion from Tesco who worked with the children on exploring fruits that contain water and thank you to Luis’ mum who brought in baby Ryan to bath.

One Planet Picnic

‘A One Planet Picnic is a picnic that is good for you and good for the planet’

To take part in Keep Scotland Beautiful’s One planet Picnic we made our own vegetable soup and apple crumble using fresh produce sourced in our orchard or purchased locally.

At Bathgate Early Years we continue to make a conscious effort to use

  • Healthy, sustainable ingredients e.g. seasonal, local, organic, or ethical produce
  • Reduce food waste during snack times
