Maths

Growing Patterns

Find some objects around your house or in the garden (eg. sticks, buttons, rocks, socks) to make a Growing Pattern.  Remember Growing Patterns start at 1 and they grow until they reach 10.

Other Ideas

  1. Collect some items from your garden (e.g. leaves, twigs, stones) and use them to create a piece of art work.
  2. People Who Help Us – Draw a picture of someone that helps us. Remember we have already learned about Firefighters and the Police.  Can you think of anyone else that does a job to help us.
  3. Use Education City and Sumdog to complete the games set.

Nursery Family Sponsor Welly Walk

Just a reminder for tomorrows welly walk, drop children off at normal times. We plan to leave at 9.30am for the morning session and 12.30pm for the afternoon session. Looks like there is light rain forecast so dress appropriately – hopefully we can find some puddles for a little splash!

New term and new beginnings

Well after a lovely summer holiday our new primary 5’s have been busy since starting. So far we have created lovely self portraits, stained glass names and even started our topic.

The pupils enjoyed making their stained glass names and put a lot of thought into the colours they wanted to use. They were so excited when they were finally put up on the window and luckily for us, the sun was shining so we were able to see the effect of them.

The pupils have also been busy making kites where they looked at what they enjoyed last year, what they are looking forward to in primary 5 and what their strengths are. They also thought hard about something they would like to become better at.

We have had a great start to the term and can’t wait to keep you updated with all of our fun activities in class and what we are learning.
