PE DAYS

Good afternoon.

We have had a fantastic start to our new school session with children settling in well.  It has been wonderful seeing them in their St. Joseph’s uniform and we are keen to encourage the children to continue to do so.

As mitigations continue to stipulate that children are unable to change clothes for PE, we would ask where possible, that your child/children come to school with their PE kits on under their uniform.

Also, please ensure all items of clothing and belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

From Monday, August 23rd, PE will be on the following days.

P1- Miss Mc Cullagh: Tuesday and Thursday

P2/1 Mrs Warner: Tuesday and Thursday

P3/2 Miss Coleman:  Monday and Tuesday

P3 Mr Neale: Tuesday and Wednesday

P4 Mrs Strain: Wednesday and Thursday

P5/4 Miss Graham: Monday and Thursday

P5 Mr Paton Day: Tuesday and Thursday

P6 Miss Duffy:  Tuesday and Wednesday

P6 Mr Kildae: Tuesday and Wednesday

P7 Miss Mc Closkey: Tuesday and Thursday

Rocket launching with P2/3

Today we were learning about rockets and aerodynamics. We asked the question, ‘Why are rockets shaped like pencils and not bricks?’

We made simple rockets and decorated them with colourful patterns.

We then went out into the playground and got ready for the launch.

Reminder – Rag Bag Collection Tuesday 22nd June.

The next Rag Bag collection will be on Tuesday 22nd June.

Please support this activity. Only send bags on Tuesday as we are not able to bring them into the building. There will be additional “baskets” beside the Rag Bag container in the car park.

This is a great opportunity to clear out our wardrobes for the summer.

P5 – Gardening and Bug Discovery

P5 once again made the most of the good weather and headed outside to tidy up the garden and inspect the local wildlife.

  • We found some slugs.
    More wee beasties!
Raking and collecting the newly cut grass.
    Tidying up the garden.
    Litter picking.
Putting the weeds and grass cuttings in our composter.
    Great job boys!
    Fascinating wee bugs.

We even named our slugs. This one is called Jimmy! 😁
