Sustainable Future

Hello,
My name is Melissa Dunn and I work with the Education Department to support and develop Health and Wellbeing (HWB) and Learning for Sustainability (LfS).  I attended St Joseph’s Primary and then went on to work here as a class teacher for several years. I also worked at St Mary’s in Bathgate before moving to work at Southdale Primary in Armadale when it opened in 2016.

To find out what is important to communities, especially around travel, transport and facilities in your local area I plan to work with all feeder primaries to St Kentigern’s Academy. In finding out what matters to you and your community I intend to put forward a grant proposal to the Scottish Government to see if we can help deliver some of the action points that come from our meetings.

Attached is a poster that details of this project.  If you are interested in being part of this working group please contact your school office as they have further information including times and dates.

I look forward to meeting and working with you soon.
Best  Wishes

Melissa

P1 – 4 Draw with Rob Parent Event 2nd October

We are really excited to have been chosen by the Scottish Book Trust as one of the schools to take part in a live online ‘Draw with Rob’ session on Wednesday 2nd October! It is aimed at P1-4 level.

Therefore, we would like to invite our P1 – P4 parents to join their children in class to take part in this event. (If you have more than one child between P1 – P4, the event will be set up in the hall so you can take part as a family).

The event will run from 10.50 – 12pm. Please join us in making this a great event. This will also help the school move closer to achieving their Silver Reading Schools Award.
