As part of our Magic Castle topic we have all been making our own information booklets. We have been carrying out research about castles and we have the responsibility of deciding what we will include in our own books.
Bloggers
Primary 6W have their own blogging wall. We are using the Notifications section to make suggestions about what we want to include on the school blog. We have also created profiles of ourselves so that visitors to our class can get to know us a bit better.
The Magic Castle
Primary 6W have started to transform their classroom into a castle. We have made wooden panels for the walls and created shields for our groups. We have also started to build different objects for the castle. Keep looking out for updates on our progress.

Buddies!
On a Friday Primary 7 work with their Primary 1 buddies. After reading together Primary 7 have been helping their buddy to read and write the common words.
Well the weaving has commenced to make Hamish a new scarf…..it may take us some time! We hope Hamish doesn’t want his new scarf soon. This activity hopes to give the children a better sense of weaving and the next steps will be to sew using a needle and thread.
Primary 1 weavers
Today primary 1 used weaving techniques to design their own tartan. We found out it was pretty tricky but we all worked hard to master the technique. We are going to set up a weaving loom in class to make a new scarf for Hamish McHaggis.
Primary 2 complete their toys…
Primary 2 completed their toys this afternoon. They worked so well together and the finished results were fabulous! The children thoroughly enjoyed being Toymakers!

As part of our Toys topic, Primary 2 have been very busy designing and making their own toys. They worked collaboratively, in groups of 3, to carefully design their toys before making them, using household junk.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Primary 1 have been so excited with the snow!!! Unfortunately not enough snow had fallen for us to build a snowman……..so we wrote a story about one. We had lots of fabulous ideas for what our snowmen got up to. We had snowmen parties, make-up parties, flying snowmen, pirate snowmen, unicorn snowmen, lost in the forest snowmen, mountain climbing snowmen, going to the movies with snowmen…….our imaginations were really working today!!!
