Here are some recent pictures of what we have been up to in Primary 2…
Day 4: Baby Chicks
Great news!
All ten of our baby chicks have now hatched.
Devil Chick, TFJ, Pennywise and Chicken-Cow have all arrived safely.
They are all now in the brooder box and have clean water, bedding and plenty of food for the night.

We also weighed our chicks for the first time and are keeping a record of their progress.
Morty is our heaviest chick, weighing in at a hefty 44g.
Goldie is on lightest chick, weighing in at a dainty 33g.
More updates tomorrow.
Night, night baby chicks!
P2 Bennie Museum Visit
Primary 2 enjoyed a visit to the Bennie Museum yesterday as part of their Toy topic.
They learned lots of interesting facts and were able to take turns playing with all of the old toys!
Safe to say, the class favourite was ‘The Bogie’.
Day 3: Baby Chicks
SURPRISE!!!!
Two baby chicks greeted us as we arrived this morning.
Lucky and Sunshine, welcome to the world!
During Maths, Yoke and Pickle made an appearance.

Goldie arrived during lunch and Morty was born minutes ago!

Lucky and Sunshine are now big enough to go into the brooding box. Thanks to Stephanie and Syke for very delicately transferring them over.
What a fab day!
Tanzania Calling!
Foodbank Visit
Kathleen and Sophie from West Lothian Foodbank visited some of our classes today and spoke to us about their work. We really enjoyed hearing about the way donations are used to help people within West Lothian and also got the opportunity to ask some questions.
Please remember that our toiletries drive is currently in progress, all toiletry dontations are welcome and will be sent on to West Lothian Foodbank.
Day 2: Baby Chicks
Day 1: Baby Chicks
P6W took delivery of 10 eggs yesterday.
At the moment they are being kept at 37.7 C Â in a humidifier. This keeps our baby chicks nice and warm and the humid air makes it easier for them to break through the shell.
Things are quiet at the moment but on Wednesday/Thursday we’re expecting to meet our little visitors.
We’re all VERY excited!

What makes a fairytale a fairytale?

Primary 1/2 spend the morning investigating fairytales. We wanted to know exactly what a fairytale needs in order for it to be a fairytale.
We began by collecting all of our ideas in our class floor book. Mrs Cree helped by creating a fairytale checklist. We then worked in groups to investigate four fairytales with our checklist.
After a thorough investigation, we decided that all fairytales should have:
- a baddie
- a goody
- ‘Once upon a time…’
- bright, nice pictures
- a happy ending
We are goi
