Ash Wednesday

Hi Children,

Today is the beginning of lent, It is fasting for 40 days.  This is a christian tradition. Lent may mean giving up something you love for 40 days, it could be chocolate, bread or crisps.  Maybe you will join in!

It also means it is six weeks until Easter Sunday too. I wonder how many Easter eggs the Easter Bunny will bring you…?

National Inventor’s Day

Hi Everyone,

Lets celebrate past Inventors, as without them we wouldn’t have many of the things we use on a daily basis.

Local Inventors include James Young Simpson, from Bathgate who discovered Penicilin,  Alexander Graham Bell, from Edinburgh who  invented the telephone, John Logie Baird, from helensburgh who invented the television and Henry Bell, from Torphichen who developed the steamship, plus there are many, many more Scottish inventors!

Today you could be an inventor! What will you Invent? I wonder if you could use your imgination and come up with a new invention. Let us see your inventions by posting them here. I look forward to seeing what you have created.

Have a great day full of fun and creativity, Jen

P6/7 Learning Activities Thursday

This week we tasked pupils with asking 100 people what makes them happy and what makes them sad.  This was not an easy task but we now have LOTS of data to help us with our festival!

It’s now time to organise our data by writing an informative report!

Informative Report – What makes people happy & sad

We realised that it may have been easier to work together to collect the data.  There’s plenty data to be found on Teams if you didn’t manage to get many responses!

Number Talks Thursday

Check in 9:15, Coaching Conversations 11:15-12:15 (Check your time on the Better Together team!), optional writing support 1:30 and a fun check out at 2:45!
