Class 3 at M&D’s

On Wednesday classes 1, 2 and 3 had their trip to M&D’s. It was awesome! We tried lots of different rides and activities.

Josh – I like the bumper cars because I liked to bump into people. I bumped into everyone on the ride.

Geordie – The White Water ride was awesome and cool. I got wet and I enjoyed that!

Cary – The Big Apple was quite fun. You start slow, then you go up a chain bit, then you go over a few bumps, then you go through a turn (it’s a bit scary!), then you go down so fast! Then you go slow for the chain bit then fast again and that’s the end of the ride. If you are lucky the man gives you an extra go.

Geordie brought waterproof trousers as well as his jacket. This was a very good idea as it was very rainy at the start of our visit. That didn’t stop us from having lots of fun!

Classes 1, 2 and 3  all had lunch together. A clown visited our table and did some magic tricks with some food!

We all had a fantastic day and we would like to say a huge thank you to M&Ds and the Variety Club.

Class 3 prepare for M and Ds :)

We are very excited about our upcoming trip to M&Ds, only 5 days to go!

Geordie – I am very excited because we are going to M&Ds. I said ‘Wooohoooo!’ when we heard the news!

Josh – I have been before but I can’t really remember. My mum says I really enjoyed the caterpillar ride.

Cary – I felt really excited when I heard about the trip!

On Wednesday afternoon we got together with everyone in  classes 1 and 2 to learn more about M&Ds.

We looked at pictures of different rides on the Smart board. We found out that some rides are for little children. Some are for people of any height. There are some other rides that  you have to be quite tall to go on. We all found out what height we are so that we can find the rides that suit us.

Josh – We got measured on the height chart that was painted on the wall upstairs.

Cary – I was the tallest in my group.

Geordie – I want to go on the really fast rollercoaster rides that are for teenagers. I’m the sort of person that likes awesome stuff.

In the rainbow room we had lots of fun pretending to go on different rides. Here we are on the roller coaster!

Josh – We built a log flume and a roller coaster.

Cary – I made a pirate ship which you could wobble about. It was great!

We learned that the big wheel can also be called a Ferris wheel. We made pictures of a Ferris wheel. The wheel part of it spun round just like the real big wheel does!

Cary – I loved it and I drew lots of people in the gondolas. Some gondalas had 1 person, some had 2 and some had whole families!

We also thought about some of the things we would see, hear, touch, smell and taste on our trip. Our senses will be very busy indeed!

Look out for our blog next week when we will tell you all about our real trip to M&Ds!

Another busy week in Class 3

Class 3 have been very busy this week taking part in various Health and Fitness activities.

On Monday we had a Silver Circle time were we moved around three different stations.

GeordieIn class 1 we learned that everyone has the right to a healthy lifestyle. Everyone should have healthy food and clean water, a house  and medicine if they are ill.

JoshWe practised races in the hall.  For the egg and spoon race we used a potato!

CaryI loved playing on the wii in class 3.

On Tuesday we played Boccia. Before we tried it we watched a clip on the Smartboard which showed us how to play it. It is kind of like bowls. You have to throw a little ball to start with. Then everyone throws their own ball to see who can get nearest to the little ball.

Wednesday was Sports Day. This is Nathan running in one of the P5 races.

Afterwards we had our very own Class 1, 2 and 3 award ceremony. We had worked hard to join in and watch the  races.

Josh getting his medal.

Josh – I liked my medal. It made me feel good. Sports Day was really good and I liked the egg and spoon race.

Another exciting thing that happened on Wednesday was that Cary worked with Mr Marsden to transform the sensory room into an Angry Birds haven! He then invited the younger children in to explore  and play with the activities that he had set up.

Cary – I put up lights and  used the sparkle ball to make stars. I filmed the little ones with the iPad.

Mr Marsden and the class 3 adults were very impressed with what Cary had created.

Cary – The best thing about it was seeing the wee ones have fun.  I feel proud and I think my mum will be proud.

Our last Health and Fitness activity this week was a very special healthy snack.

Aidan I thought that the fruit skewers were really tasty and I really enjoyed having a cheese toasted sandwich.

Thanks very much to Mrs White and class 2 for preparing it for us :).

A very special café visit.

On Tuesday Class 3 had a very special trip to Lanna’s café. We were saying goodbye to Jason and wishing him good luck at his new school. Before we went we each made him a good luck card.

Josh – I made my card to look like a Creeper because I know Jason likes Minecraft.

Geordie – I made a Cineworld card, Jason really likes cinemas.

Aidan – My card was designed to look like Steve from Minecraft with a diamond axe mining a tree. It had an emerald on the inside.

At the café we were all very pleased to see Jason. We each ordered a snack and a drink.

We all sat round the table together and chatted.

Aidan – It was really touching to see Jason and I would like to do it again sometime.

We talked about what we’d been doing since he left.

Geordie – I am really sad that Jason left to go to another school. It was good to see him on Tuesday.

Josh – It was nice that we were together with Jason again.

After we had eaten we each went to the counter to pay Lanna.

Miss Waddell and Mrs Stewart were very proud of us for being such good friends and giving Jason a great send off.

Class 3 prepare for the procession!

Class 3 boys have been very busy this week with their paint brushes. Today is the last day of May which means that tomorrow is a very special day for Bathgate! Procession Day is almost here! Balbardie’s theme this year is Madagascar 3.

We have been making pictures to decorate the windows of the school for when the procession comes past.

Liam – I was painting Alex the lion. I painted his whiskers black and his nose brown.

Aidan – I had loads of fun painting because it was like putting life into the characters.

Geordie – Awesome, it was wicked fun! The pictures look cool.

Josh – I did a great job of painting Alex the lion’s ears. We worked  together to make the pictures.

Mrs Stewart had a sneak preview of our float on Wednesday night. She was helping to paint it and says that it looks phenomenal!

We hope that everyone who comes along to the Bathgate Procession and John Newland Festival tomorrow has a great time :).
