Junior Choir

Wow!!!  What an amazing week at Junior Choir!!  Along with our usual singing practice, did you know that your children are all fantastic song writers?

This week the children were set with the challenge of writing their own song for the Primary 7s moving onto high school.  They thought about the messages they wanted the song to convey and then worked in groups to create their own verse and a chorus!  I am so impressed with the children’s imagination and musicality throughout the whole task and really can’t wait to start working on the song next week!  Another huge well done Junior Choir!

In addition to this, please note that the Junior Choir will be performing a song at the end of year Church service on the 30th of June (9.30am), it would be lovely to see some more friendly faces there if you are able to attend!

Many thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Mansfield and Mrs Palmer.

Just another reminder that choir permission letters need to be returned by this Friday to either Miss Owens or myself.

We are really looking forward to another term of fun with P4 and P5!    If you have any suggestions for choir songs, please let us know and we will try to make them work (even if just for a bit of fun one week!)

A letter will soon be issued to the children involved in the Junior Choir with the rehearsal dates up until the Summer Holidays, this has to be returned by 20th January giving permission for your child to attend the rehearsals after school.

Any P4-P5 children wishing to join the choir can speak to Miss Owens or myself.

Another huge well done to the members of the Junior Choir, and another proud moment as teachers for both myself and Miss Owens.

On Thursday we were recorded for West Lothian Council and did a superb job singing in two part harmony for both ‘It was on a Starry Night” and ‘Away in a Manger”.

Remember: Choir is ON after school on Tuesday for the last session of the year – new letters will be issued the first week back informing parents/carers of future rehearsals.

Thank you for your continued support!

Hi,

This is just a note to remind parents/carers that the Junior Choir rehearsal is ON after school on Tuesday. Apologies for this date being missed from the original information letter, your children will be reminded again at school on Monday.

Please let me know if there are any problems with this.

Thanks,

Wow!  What wonderful and talented children I have the pleasure of working with!

This morning the children of the Junior Choir sang in front of their peers at the 3 school gatherings where they did a fantastic job!  They confidently and successfully sang ‘See the Poppies’ which splits into 2 part singing in the middle – not an easy task!  A huge well done to all the choir members, I am really looking forward to challenging you more and more to develop your singing skills!  See you tomorrow at choir practice after school.

This was another fabulous week for the Junior Choir as we continue to learn about singing in a round – this will help when we start singing in 2 part harmony after the holidays!

This week we were practising:

-See the Poppies

-Belle Mamma

-I like the Mountains

Keep up the fab work!!

Wow!  What talented children we have here at Balbardie!  Both Miss Owens and I were blown away by the standard of singing at the choir auditions on Tuesday.

We know that some children weren’t able to attend because they were at Lowport, if your child is one of these children could they please come and speak to me (Mrs Mansfield) on Monday and arrangements can be made to hear them sing.

A reminder that all permission letters need to be returned by Monday at the latest.

Thanks,

Mrs Mansfield

School Choir

The senior choir, primary 6 and primary 7, begins on Friday 6th September. Pupils have been given letters seeking permission for attendance, also whether they are walking home or being collected from school. It’s important that I have this information before Friday.
I’m very much looking forward to working with the choir members!

The junior choir, primary 4 and primary 5 pupils, begins after the October holiday – Tuesday 28th October. Those who have shown an interest in being part of this choir were issued with letters on Friday of last week.
