P3a

Here are some of our highlights of the week:

Maddison – I have been learning about highlighting hurricane facts. In my group was Hollie, Teigan and me.
Rheagan – I liked learning about hurricanes.
Rowan – I enjoyed learning about Hurricane Harvey and watching the video clips of the flooding.
Teigan – My favourite day of the week was when we were interviewing Guy Fawkes in our writing.
Lois – I enjoyed taking away and adding in Maths.
Akasha – My favourite was when we were doing our facts about Hurricane Harvey and we got to highlight the facts. In my group was Lois and me.
Elena – I enjoyed our assembly practises.
Charlotte – I liked going to the school library and I really liked the bean bags.
Lexi – I liked making the poppies in Art.
Luke – I also liked making the poppies in Art.
Artjom – I liked how we finished our poppies.
Daniel – I am looking forward to doing experiments about floods and hurricanes.
Jude – I liked the assembly of poppies, but the creepy part of the image was “We will remember them”.
Emily – I liked doing Art this week.
Jack – I am excited about making little hurricanes in class.
Hollie – I liked the Remembrance Assembly because I like remembering those who died in the war. I also liked the Big Balbardie Blether (BBB).
Archie – I really enjoyed doing our poppies and I also liked the BBB.
Kyle – I liked when we were learning about Hurricane Harvey.

Archie – I really liked when we announced our bake-off winner and our Halloween dress down day.

Elena – I enjoyed cutting the raffle tickets and taking the money and helping at the Children in Need raffle.

Akasha – I really liked when I dressed up as Charmander for Halloween dress down day. I also liked our bake-off and the winner was Rowan.

Kyle – I liked when we held our Children in Need fundraiser.

Daniel – I am looking forward to learning more about extreme weather this term.

Luke – I also really liked cutting the raffle tickets and taking the money.

Maddison – My favourite thing this week was having the whole school in our class voting for their favourite cakes.

Charlotte – I liked when it was the Halloween dress up day.

Rosie – I enjoyed when we made our houses in Art.

Lois – I liked collecting the money and cutting the raffle tickets for our fundraiser.

Rowan – I really liked being the winner of the bake-off competition.

Emily – I liked when we made a poppy painting with the Art teacher.

Artjom – I liked when we wrote a Halloween story.

Emma – I liked when we wrote the Halloween story as well.

Sarah – I liked when we wrote about being lost in a maze and I liked everyone else’s ideas.

Hollie – I liked when we wrote the Halloween story because mine was really spooky.

Eva – I liked when we wrote about being lost in an attic.

Jack – I liked when we made houses with the Art teacher.

Lexi – I liked helping at the raffle stall at our class fundraiser.

Teigan – I liked voting for all of the cakes at the competition.

Lucas – I liked buying the cakes at play time.

Rheagan – I liked doing Art with Mrs Thomson.

P3a…

P3a are looking forward to learning lots of new things this term. Here are some of the things we are looking forward to:

Luke – I am looking forward to learning about new strategies in Maths. I am also looking forward to writing more stories.
Archie – I am looking forward to learning about hurricanes.
Artjom – I like using charcoal in Art with Mrs Thompson. I liked writing about “Lost in the maze” and I can’t wait to write more.
Elena – I am looking forward to seeing what we will be doing in PE next week. I am also looking forward to the Halloween Dress Down Day on Halloween.
Sarah – I am looking forward to learning more about the storms because it’s really interesting.
Daniel – I am really looking forward to learning about how hurricanes are made.
Teigan – I am looking forward to learning about more Maths.
Kyle – I am looking forward to Writing.
Hollie – I am looking forward to more stories in Writing and our hurricane projects.
Rheagan – I am looking forward to learning about new stories in Writing.
Akasha – I am looking forward to making my sheep in Art. It is going to be so cute.
Charlotte – I am excited to learn about all the different types of weathers in different places.
Rowan – I am excited to make a weather satellite.
Eva – I am excited to make our cakes for the Children in Need day on Monday and see who wins.

P3A

This has been our final week in Term 1. It has gone by super fast and we have had lots of fun learning tasks!

Our favourite moments of this week are:
Daniel – I liked when we wrote about a fire and I also liked when we were at Church today.
Kyle – My favourite moment was in P.E when we got the mats out and the cones to try and get across to the “Disneyland”.
Maddison – In P.E we had mats out and if you went onto the floor you had to start all over. We were trying to get to imaginary “Disneyland”.
Archie – I really liked when we did our harvest healthy snack packets. I also really liked when did the story about the fire and I liked going to the church.
Artjom – I liked how we made the houses with the Art teacher.
Elena – I liked when we went to the church and I saw my dad. I also really liked the songs that we did.
Sarah – I like P.E. We were playing “chaos tig” when everyone is it and whoever gets tigged, they have to sit and watch the person who tigged them. Once they sit down they are free.
Rowan – If you tig each other at the same time in “chaos tig” you have to play rock, paper, scissors to see who will sit down.
Luke – I liked P.E this week because we played a lot of teamwork games and I was partners with Akasha, Sam, Teigan and Rowan.
Akasha – I liked when I wrote my story and I also like Golden Time.
Hollie – I liked the story called “Fire!” and I am really glad today is Friday because it is a good day!

Our favourite moments in P3 so far are:
Elena – Everything!
Charlotte – I liked when we made clean water out of dirty water.
Daniel – I liked when we learned about what dissolves and what doesn’t dissolve.
Luke – I liked learning different strategies in Maths and all of our Maths. I also liked the Xcite workshop with Marie and Robyn.
Archie – I liked when do our spelling words.
Kyle – I liked when we did our spelling tests.
Artjom – I liked when we made our landscape pictures of our community. I also liked when we drew pictures with crayons and painted over it in black paint. Then we scratched the paint off to make new pictures.
Akasha – I liked when we did our houses in Art with the Art teacher. I also liked when we made our names when we were learning about our right to a name.
Lexi – I liked making the houses with Mrs Thomson.
Rosie – I liked when we our Harvest pictures.

P3A

Some of our favourite moments from this week are…

Archie – I really liked when we were writing stories about dragons and when we sang our Harvest songs.

Artjom – I enjoyed making the little houses with the Art teacher.

Kyle – I liked when we went on our community walk.

Luke – I liked being the star writer!

Rowan – I liked when it was Shared Start because parents got to come in and see what work we’ve been doing.

Akasha – I liked when my mummy came in for Shared Start. I also liked making my Pokemon Center with the Art teacher.

Sarah – I liked how we do our work because we get to learn stuff. When we are older we will get to go to high school and college. It’s just great.

Hollie – I liked when my mum came into Shared Start. I also liked my new reading book.

Elena – I liked when we went into the new library to read our new reading book. I like our new reading book “Into Space”.

P3A

We have had a very exciting and busy week in our class. Here are some of our favourite learning moments from this week…

Kyle – My favourite thing was going with the Art teacher.

Archie – My favourite thng was writing about “Cycling in the snow” and I was a star writer!

Hollie – I liked the coffee morning!

Jude – I liked doing the story “The almighty loaf”!

Sarah – I really enjoyed Golden Time because you get to play and do fun stuff.

Artjom – I liked making the lollipops for our Roald Dahl display.

Luke – I enjoyed P.E. this week.

Rowan – I enjoyed when the fire alarm went off!

Elena – I am excited for our new reading book next week.

Maddison – I enjoy reading!

Daniel – I enjoyed making the paper bag buildings with our Art teacher.

Charlotte – I liked when we made the giant candies.

Teigan – I liked when the fire alarm went off because it was cool. We did push-ups to keep warm.

Jack – We’ve been learning about hundreds, tens and units.

Rheagan – I liked doing the paper mache with the Art teacher.

P3a

Kyle – We went into the zoo bus and we saw fake animals. We got to feel the different furs of the animals.

Akasha – I liked watching the video and also I liked the wildcat. I liked the video of how they were feeding themselves, grooming themselves and washing themselves. They were also eating branches.

Sarah – We got to feel skulls and the best thing about it was we were talking about beavers and wildcats. It was amazing and I loved it.

Hollie – The animals were so cute and the best thing about it was how sad it was when they told us some animals were extinct or endangered. I thought it was really good though.

Elena – My favourite part was feeling the teeth and also the beaver’s fur was so fluffy.

Rosie – The beaver’s fur was very nice, but I didn’t like it when they poked out the eyeballs.

Daniel – We got to find out if they were meat-eaters, plant-eaters, or both.

Archie – I liked when we were learning about the omnivores, herbivores and carnivores.

P3A

Here are some highlights of our week:
Jack – I have had some nice days. Me and my mum made the same slime at home that we made at school
Sarah – We made goopy stuff in Science!
Elena – I have enjoyed our Spelling books
Luke – I want to work my hardest to get 3 points
Akasha – I like my Dojo monster. It is black and orange
Daniel – I liked making the goopy stuff at school
Hollie – I liked that I was STAR OF THE WEEK because I did excellent writing
Rheagan – I liked making the slime

This week has been our first week in Primary 3A. Here are some of the things that we have enjoyed this week and some things that we are excited about learning this year.

Luke – I am looking forward to learning more Science.
Charlotte – I am looking forward to learning more about our Rights.
Hollie – I am looking forward to Writing.
Akasha – I am looking forward to doing some Writing.
Archie – I liked when we were learning about making clean water.
Sarah – I am looking forward to Golden Time.
Artjom – I am looking forward to exploring more animals in the playground.
Maddison – I like Big Maths.
Daniel – I am looking forward to learning more Science.
Jude – I am excited for my day off school tomorrow.
Elena – I am looking forward to school trips.

Zara – I love Golden Time
Lewis – My favourite thing is the Golden Club and the big trampoline
Marcus – I like my pink jotters
Lily – I liked meeting my P2 new teacher
Hamish – I liked making new friends

Evie – I like getting into the Golden Club
Rose – I liked getting into the Golden Club
Taylor – I liked learning about butterflies
Ava – I love Golden Time and writing in booklets

Best of luck to the Primary 7 boys and girls. They have been fantastic buddies to the Primary 1 children and we wish them all the very best in their futures. They will be very missed!!

Matthias – We have been learning about keeping safe and people who help us. Our parents, the police, your sister, your brother, your teacher all keep us safe and help us.
Caitlin – We have been learning about safety and how your parents can keep you safe. We looked at safe and unsafe things that babies could eat. There were pictures of cleaning sprays which were unsafe. There was a milk bottle which was safe.
Noah – We worked with a partner and looked at pictures. We had to talk about if it was safe or unsafe. There was a boy eating grapes and I thought it was unsafe as he was eating all by himself and could have choked.
Lewis – I have enjoyed doing Maths this week. I have been adding and taking away.
Max – I like learning about nature.
Reiss – I like learning about butterflies and their life cycle. They come out of their eggs and turn into a big, beautiful butterfly.
Scott – I liked when we were learning about animals in nature and insects.
Josh – I liked learning about safe and unsafe food for babies to eat.
Marcus – I liked learning about the safe and unsafe baby food too.
Kyle – I like learning in Phonics and we have less amount of people in the class and all of the work that we do.
Jacob – I like getting Dojo points and getting a prize if you get the most Dojo points you get a prize.
Gracie – I love school and I love everything about it.
Taylor – I like playtime because I get to play with my friends and eat my snack.

P1b

Ava – I had a really good time at the teddy bear picnic and we were supposed to go outside because it was raining. We had food and snacks. We read a story!
Hamish – We had a teddy bear picnic and we brung our teddies into school for the picnic.
Matthias – We were eating lots of sweets and crisps and we brung in our teddies. Some people didn’t bring in their teddies, so we shared them. We were celebrating summer!

Evie – These awards were for Sports Day and because we were racing so fast. We were trying to win!
Ava – I was 1st place in the sack race and I was 3rd in the egg and spoon race.
Matthias – Some people got 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Then we got lots of pictures and awards.

Scott – We were making buckets and we could colour it in after when we were finished.
Emma – We were doing our writing in the bucket and after we did our writing we got to cut them out.
Hamish -We were writing what we wanted to do in the summer holidays.
Matthias – We said what we wanted to do, who you wanted to see and where you wanted to go. Some people accidentally cut off their bucket handles, so Miss Waddell had to tape them together again.

Reiss – We were learning how rain is made.

Caitlin – This was the water cycle.

Matthias – How rain happens is that the sun is so hot and tiny pieces of rain goes up to the sky and it turns into clouds. Sometimes it makes snow.

Emma – The rain was pouring down the clouds and we did an experiment and we took photos.

Ava – We had water, blue food colouring and shaving cream. When you add the food colouring you could see the cloud was getting heavy and it started to rain.

Hamish – When the tiny bits of water go up it’s called evaporation.

Lily – When the tiny bits of water go together and make clouds it’s called condensation.

Caitlin – When it falls down it is called precipitation.

Hamish – Everyone was looking at the experiment and we liked it.

On Wednesday it was Move on Day!

Caitlin – We were doing Rainbow Writing in Primary 2.

Evie – We made our names for our new trays.

Ava – We played a game where we had to roll the dice and say our names and something about us.

Emma – We also got to play with the play-doh and making stuff with it.

Evie – We were writing invitations to our teddies for our teddy bear picnic!

Ava – Our teddy bear picnic is on Monday in the tellytubby garden and if it is nice weather then we will have a real life picnic in school. If the weather is not nice then we will stay in the classroom.

Noah – On Wednesday it was Sports Day and there were different races to win. The first race was just running, there was also an egg and spoon race. There was also a sack race and a rally race.

Emma – We had Sports Day and we did lots of races.

Matthias – There were lots of people who were trying their best. I was running for the House Point race. My daddy tried to race too, but I think he was second last.

Evie – When we were doing the sack race, lots of people were falling over and some people were not.

Maksim – I was fourth place in the sack race.

Marcus – In the sack race some people got hurt by falling.

Josh – At the egg and spoon race we had a potato instead and we had to walk slowly to the finish line.

Emma – We have been reading books in the library and visiting the book fair. I have been reading lots of books.

Caitlin – At Shared Start we share our learning with parents.

Josh – We were at a book fair and we were looking at books and we can buy them at the school office.

Matthias – We were reading books at the office and then we had to choose what book we wanted for money and we had to tell our mum and dad if we wanted a book. Then the mums and dads might say yes or no.

Jacob – We also did a wordsearch with our parents at Shared Start and we were searching for Growth Mindset words.

Matthias – Growth Mindset is saying that you can do something, and not “I can’t do this” or “This is too hard”.

Josh – We made flower pictures whilst printing with bottles and little foam printers
Matthias – We had to make some nice flowers
Ava – We got paint and printed them onto paper with the bottles and made flowers

Evie – We were outside doing Maths and PE and we played a game. We had to clap 3 times and guess what the other person was going to do
Matthias – The game was used in Nigeria and they don’t have any toys so they don’t need them. Someone is the leader and whoever gets the same as the leader becomes to leader. It’s like rock, paper, scissors

Caitlin – We were learning symmetry and we were saying it something was symmetrical or not by saying “yes” or “no”

Lewis – We were learning about directions
Reiss – We worked with a partner and they closed their eyes whilst we helped give them directions. They moved how many spaces that we said.

Evie – We were trying to find minibeasts
Ava – We were trying to find stuff on the lists. We were in teams and everyone found lots of things
Emma – We looked in some bins and plants so that we could find some animals
Hamish – We were finding lots of things and objects

Josh – We were making toast and we had to put it in the toaster and we had butter, a toaster and some bread, a knife and plate
Matthias – We were writing instructions on how to make toast
Marcus – In the end, the teacher ate the toast!

Caitlin – When we were fundraising money we were running and stepping and we were doing star jumps and passing
Noah – We were jumping and bouncing basketball. We moved when the music started and when the music stopped we had to put everything back where it was
Josh – We were in the PE gym hall and our mums and dads came
Kyle – We were raising money for more things for the playground

Emma – We have one cup with no water in a cupboard, one with lots of water and one that has everything
Matthias – One cup has enough of everything. It needs the right temperature of heat, the right amount of water and the right amount of light
Josh – One cup is in a cupboard with no sun and no water. It is very hot and it has dried up
Caitlin – One cup has too much water and there’s only a few green leaves

Gracie – We had to write the labels
Hamish – We had to write what the parts were and then we coloured it in
Noah – There is the stem, the leaves, the petals and the roots

Josh – We were learning maths outside with our buddies
Kyle – Our buddies made us a trail adventure and we had to find stuff
Hamish – We had to find rocks and sticks
Ava – I had to make squares using sticks

Noah – We had to put the right pictures into the right seasons
Gracie – The pictures were all jumbled up and we had to sort them
Hamish – We had to stick them in the right places
Josh – We had lots of pictures and they were all jumbled up

Ava – We put cotton wool in cups and then we put seeds in them and put water in them. We left them and took them home
Josh – They are called cress plants
Ava – We are doing an experiment. One cup is having lots of water and lots of sun
Caitlin – Another cup is having some sun, the temperature has to be right and we have to give the plant some water once a day
Josh – One cup is in the cupboard and is getting no sun, it’s too hot and it’s getting no water
Miss Wilson – We will see what is going to happen to each of these plants and compare them!

Lewis – We were sorting healthy foods and unhealthy foods into the right plates. Cookies are not healthy because they have chocolate on them. Chocolate is not healthy
Hamish – The green plate was the healthy plate, the orange plate was the foods we have sometimes and the red plate was the unhealthy foods we have as a treat
Josh – The red plate was full of treats
