P2A

Another busy week of learning in p2A.  For our European Day of languages we looked at famous French landmarks and made super Sleeping Beauty castle drawings from Disneyland Paris.  We really liked watching the firework show there. We learned our colours and numbers to 10 in French too.

This week we had Maths Week and we had fun doing all of our activities.  Wwew made 2D shape monsters, 3D shape towers and were really fortunate to have Marc from MoneySense working with us on a money workshop.

P2A

Welcome back from p2A! We hope you had a fantastic summer! We have had a very busy first week back-We have been busy setting out and making our class charter and focussing on what makes a great p2 pupil and what makes a super P2 teacher. We made very colourful helping hands and characters to display on our wall.

In number work we have been practising our mental maths counting up to 100 and our number bonds up to 10 and 20 and will be continuing with this next week with our Speedy Mental Maths challenges as part of our number station.

We had fun in Circle time with our new Circle Time games and we shared key facts about what we did in our summer holidays.

Next week we will have PE with Mr Jeffries, please note indoor gym kit for each Tuesday please 🙂 Outdoor PE day  will be a Thursday this term (weather permitting) Many thanks for returning gym kits.

Homelearning will be sent home each Wednesday, please return the following Monday, many thanks for your support with this.

 

1B’s week

This week has been anti-bullying week and we have been very busy thinking about ways in which we can be a great friend to our classmates.  We made super helping hands in class and discussed ways in which we could show kindness towards others.  Next week we will be looking at finishing off our anti-bullying posters.

We have had a very busy week practising the Nativity and we now have our words home if you have a speaking part in the show.  Please continue to practise your words at home as it is sounding fantastic already! 🙂 Nativity tickets will be coming your way soon!

P1B’s news

We have had a busy week in P1!.  This week in maths, we started our addition work using the Numicon and we have been busy painting our numbers up to 10.  Next week we will be looking at our numbers up to 20 and counting before/after.

In writing this week we read the story of a haunted house and wrote about scary things happening at Halloween.  Our WOW word of the week is creepy!

We have been busy practising our songs for The Nativity.  This year’s performance will be ‘The Sleepy Shepherd’, more information, timings and tickets will follow nearer the time.  Please note Nativity performances will be on Tuesday 12th December (afternoon) and Wednesday 13th December (morning).  We look forward to seeing you there 🙂

P1b’s week

This week in P1b we have been busy practising our sounds and making words to add to our word wall.  We are very excited to be getting weekly reading books and learning to read on our own 🙂

In maths this week we have been learning about positional language and we are hoping to use the Bee bots next week to help us with our turns.

We are looking forward to going to the library next Thursday and we hope to see you at the Church Service next Friday 🙂

P1B’s week

Please note you will find P1B posts under WHOLE SCHOOL NEWS as we do not have a P1 category at the moment, thanks.

This week in P1B we have been very busy with our learning.  We have been inspired with our Inspirational maths week this week to make emoji pictures and sort them into their various characteristics.  We had fun making patterns and sorting our pictures 🙂

In phonics this week we have made ‘t’ turtles and ‘a’ astronauts to add to our phonics wall.  We have been very busy learning our tricky words, I, the, he, she, me and we.  We had fun learning our words and playing our games.

The first Home learning for P1 will be sent home on the 27th of September and should be returned the following Monday. Bookbags, weekly reading book, tricky words, maths and phonics mat will be included.

P1B news

Welcome to Primary 1B!

The class has had an amazing start to P1 and we have been very busy this week :-).  We have started learning our phonics and we have been practising the sounds m and ck.  We made super funky monkeys and cool cars this week.  Next week we will make slithering snakes and fantastic Pikachu’s for our s and p sounds.

We had P.E this week with Mr Jeffries and we learned how to make friends during our teamwork games.  On Thursday we had outdoor P.E and we had fun throwing and catching balls, skipping through hoops and balancing with the quoits.

We will be practising timing ourselves on our activity stations next week and we are looking forward to learning about 2D shapes and making our shape monsters during maths time.

P2A

This week in maths we have been learning about using our number lines, improving our mental maths skills and practising our division sums. We had fun beating the Smartboard in our addition and subtraction challenges.

We have been learning about different African foods and we have had fun sharing our class talks on our African animal.  Miss McDougall was really impressed with all the learning.

We had fun on Thursday morning watching the P7 show of ‘Jungle Book’ and we loved seeing our carers as animals.

We have been busy learning about dodgeball with Mr Jeffries for P3 and we have been learning to take turns and share space in the gym hall.

P2A

In art this week we have been painting fantastic African midnight sunset paintings using tone and shading and we wrote super stories about going on safari.

In maths work, we have been busy practising our addition and subtraction sums and we found this really tricky!

In P.E we learned how to play rugby and we have been practising our strategies of tag and team work.

P2A

On Wednesday we met our new class teacher, Miss Wilson, and we got to see our new classroom.  We looked at patterns and made very interesting cat pictures. We made super holiday buckets, all about me writing and Miss Wilson looked at our writing. We had fun with our new P3 teacher and we are looking forward to going into P3 after the summer.

We made holiday snapshots with Miss Bollen and we listed our P3 worries and things we are looking forward to achieving.

In drama we have been practising our potted sports and we loved bouncing on the bouncy hoppers and running over the hoops.

P2A

In grammar this week we have been learning more about adjectives and verbs to make our stories more interesting.

We had a fantastic Sports Day and the sun shone brightly! Well done to everyone who took part and well done to all of the medal winners, we are very proud of you!

We are looking forward to the procession and we hope everyone has a fantastic time.

This week in P2A we have been trying to be more considerate when sharing and taking turns.  We have been very friendly and we thank Miss Knight for helping us with all of our work this week.

We have started to learn about adjectives and we are trying hard to make our writing more detailed using great describing words.

It was Shared Start this week, thank you to all of the parents who joined us for the Growth Mindset topic.

We learned a little bit about our rights through our review jotter targets and we learned that we are very lucky to have Children’s Rights and have choices, as not all children in the world have them.

Reminder that Sport’s Day is on Wednesday (weather permitting) at 10.30.  We hope to see you there 🙂

P2A

This week in P2A we have been practising our area and looking at perimeter.

We made some seagulls and jazzy boats that Mr Grinling would see out of his lighthouse window.  We are planning to add these to our class display along with our lighthouses we have been busy making for homelearning.  Reminder these are due in on Tuesday 23rd of May.

We had fun yesterday going outside for Outdoor Classroom Day and we acted out the story of Hansel and Gretel in our groups and presented it to the class.
