What a great week in school but what weather outside !

This week we have been working so hard learning our Scots poems whilst outside there have been gales and snow as well as sunshine…typical Scottish weather !

Well done everyone for practising the poems and being able to recite in front of a quality class audience.

Our class winners were Suvi, Alfie, Ava, Ben and Sophie…Congratulations all of you for working so hard on your actions and your Scots words.

The three children chosen to represent the class at Monday’s recital are:-

Suvi for The Furry Hat By Lydia Robb

and

Ben and Ava for The Sair Finger By Walter Wingate…Good luck !

We started our new topic this week also…The Radical Romans. There is so much for us to learn about. We started with Romulus and Remus and also the Roman Army….we started making posters about being a Roman soldier.

Did you know you had to be able to march 2o miles a day carrying all your weapons aswell as wearing your armour ?

Enjoy your weekend 🙂

  1. Hi Primary 3/2,

Congratulations to the class Scots poetry winners. I’m looking forward to hearing how you get on with the judges on Monday. The Radical Romans sounds like a fun topic and I’m sure you’re going to enjoy all of the activities that Mrs Aitken has planned for you.

    Have a lovely weekend.

  2. Megan enjoyed learning her poem and practiced very hard. She is looking forward to her new topic as her grandma lives very near Hadrians Wall.

  3. Suvi is loving the new topic already and has been sharing facts with us over dinner! Viggo is a little jealous as he thinks this sounds like a very cool topic too!
