They are also making films with Branston the Bear as the star. What fun the pupils are having.

These films will be shown at a special awards ceremony in June. More details will follow nearer the time.

Branston is going home with people at the weekend and is taking parts in lots of adventures. The pupils are filling in a diary of the fun they are having with him.

Beyond the Panda

On May 10th Sandie Robb, who led the Beyond the Panda lessons, visited us in person. She had a variety of activities for P4-7 to do and they  had a great time. The pupils enjoyed meeting her and were able to ask her lots of questions about her job. She gave some great careers advice too.

Jupiter Artland

P1-P7 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Jupiter Artland. We explored the grounds and spoke about various pieces of artwork. Afterwards, we walked in the forest and thought about different words we could use in our stories. We will be using the art pieces as stimuli in our own writing back in school.

Gardening

P1-P7 have had the wonderful opportunity to plant salad seeds with George’s Gran. We look forward to our seeds growing and thank you very much Verena for coming to plant seeds with us.

StampIT Competition

It is with great excitement that we tell you that our very own Rebecca Mooney in P7 has won 2nd place in the Around the World in Stamps competition. The winner was a girl from Canada.

Well done Rebecca for your fact poster on the Hungarian stamp you chose.

Rebecca has won an Amazon voucher ….to spend on herself.

Many congratulations.

Parent Council Community Fun Day

Saturday 26th March was a very exciting day in the village of Crawford- it was the long awaited Community Fun Day organised by the Parent Council.

It was a beautiful, sunny day and the weather brought lots of people out for this great fun day. Children and adults were able to enjoy the Pump Track, the Silent Disco and the Crazy Golf. Bonnie’s Face painting was a huge hit too.

Refreshments were served in the Village Hall and there was a great spread of sandwiches, biscuits and cakes. £101.28 was donated to the school for refreshments. That was a lovely surprise. Thank you to everyone who donated.

The activities were captured on the 3 GO Pros purchased for the school. We will have lots of fun using them in the future too.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day such a success. It was wonderful!

After School Clubs

This term the children have had the opportunity to take part in netball and rugby afterschool clubs. It has been lovely to re-introduce clubs and the children have had a wonderful time. Thank you to the netball and rugby coaches!

Vindolanda

P1-P7 thoroughly enjoyed their first school trip to Vindolanda. The children loved the museum where they had the opportunity to take part in a Roman classroom and look at Roman artefacts. They also had the chance to explore Roman grounds and play in the Roman fort play park.  We had a wonderful time!

Cross Country

P4-P7 attended the Small Schools Cross Country event, which was held at Lanark Racecourse. All of the children showed great team spirit and enjoyed taking part in the competition.  We look forward to returning next year!
