Books are brilliant! Reading Rocks!

Sophie’s Book Recommendation

“The Midnight Gang” by David Walliams

“There was a lot of adventure in this book and it is a very long and enjoyable book. I liked it because it had a lot of back stories about the characters. I would recommend it to P4 and up pupils.”

Erica’s book recommendation

“Stuck” by Oliver Jeffers

I liked this story because when everything got stuck up the tree, it was funny. I thought the boy would chop the tree down but he didn’t. When he got his kite back he forgot about everything up the tree. That was funny!

Book Swap

We now have a book swap box in school. Pupils and staff can bring in books from home that they are finished with. Pupils then receive a book swap token and can exchange these for another book. This scheme is proving very popular with the pupils and there is great excitement when a new book is borrowed. Pupils are encouraged to review the books when they are finished reading them.

Alec in P2 was delighted with the book he picked from the Book Swap box and his Mum read him Chapter 1 at bedtime on the first night.
