Prefects for session 2022- 23

Our prefects this session are Courtney, Ellie, Sophie and Eshani.

We know they will be a great help around the school and a great example to the younger children.

The girls have created a noticeboard to provide information to the other pupils.

Have a great year in post girls!

Welcome Back

A huge welcome back to everyone after a lovely Summer holiday.

It was great to see all the pupils so grown up and refreshed and so happy to be back in school.

We are all looking forward to a great session.

Potted Sports Day

Tuesday 14th June was our potted sports day.Mrs Lawson and the pupils had planned this event and what a great job they had made of it.

We started with a warm up game of Cat and Mouse and then each group was able to complete a challenge at every station.

Everyone had lots of fun and the day was completed with a Daily Mile session with the parents.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success and to everyone who came along.

Outdoor Learning!

  • P1-P7 loved their outdoor learning afternoon! We created pictures in a group, using different flowers and leaves. Then we made flags to celebrate the Jubilee! 🌸🌾🌿

Open Afternoon for Parents

Tuesday 24th May was an exciting day for staff and pupils as the parents were invited to our open afternoon. This was the first time the parents have been in school for a long time.

The pupils acted as tour guides and showed their families around the school. Parents were able to see their class work and to look at the lovely displays around the school.

The children were also encouraged to do a paired reading session with their parents, so that the parents could see what the pupils do in these sessions.

The afternoon was a great success and it was lovely to see the pupils so proud of their work and their school.

A huge thank you to everyone for coming along on the day.

She met lots of new people and is now looking forward to her 3 days at Biggar High School in June.

Reading Schools

Last week we received our award from Scottish Book Trust for our Reading Schools Silver award. We were also given a window sticker and a certificate. We were very excited to put these on display in our school.
