Can I ask each of you to log into Glow and send me an email just to check in with me.  Let me know how your first week was, what activities you have done (school and non school activities!) , how you are feeling and any suggestions for activities you would like to see on the blog next week!

Thank you so much to those of you who have sent me over photos of your amazing work! If anyone else has work they would like me to see please email it over to me.

It is really important that we all keep in contact with one another during this time!  If you have not tried, can you please look at the email that I sent you to try and set up Microsoft Teams.  I am aware some people have had issues with this (I believe you need to do this through Google Chrome, in order to open up the tile through Glow).

I hope you are all staying safe, healthy, creative, active and helpful around the house!

Can’t wait to hear from you all!

Information for Weekly Work (Blog Post 2)

Room 13, please make sure you have read the previous blog post before you read this one!

See the source image

This post is just to clarify the work that is to be completed each week.  Hopefully this makes sense for you all!

1) Work for the full week will be posted on a Monday.

See the source image

2) The work posted is suggested activities.  You do not need to complete every activity listed.

3) If you would rather create your own activity / choose an activity from a previous week… that is fine to do also!  If you come up with something amazing, email it to me and I can share this as an activity for the whole class, on the following week.

See the source image

4) Four activities to be completed a day.  One maths, one literacy, one PE and one other activity of your choice.

5) I ask that everyone logs on to the blog on Tuesday at 10am (set an alarm on your phone please!) as we will be doing a Tuesday Challenge! More information to follow…

See the source image

6) A diary entry is to be submitted to me every Friday (pretend this is like your homework, so again I would advise setting a reminder in your phone!).  You can email me your diary entry, send me a picture of your diary entry via email or post your diary entry as a comment on the blog.  This should include some information about your week, activities you have completed, how you have been feeling and just a quick check-in to let me know how you are!

7) Try to vary your activities each week and definitely try to get yourself outside for 15-30 minutes a day!  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at the correct times of the day!  Keeping a routine in your life whilst you are off is VERY IMPORTANT!

See the source image

Hopefully this lists everything that you need to know for the upcoming weeks.  Anything that you are unsure about please comment / email me and I will answer any questions that you have.

Information for Weekly Work (Blog Post 1)

Hi Room 13…

Missing you lots already!

See the source image

I hope you have had a lovely weekend and are keeping yourselves safe and healthy!

There will be a number of blog posts uploaded each week so please make sure you are checking for updates on this page regularly.

The plan for just now is… I will upload a number of tasks every Monday and this will be tasks for the whole week.  It will be up to you to select which tasks you wish to complete each day.  Maintaining a routine during the time period where you off is so important.

I have uploaded a weekly timetable template for you to use.  If you open the document on Word, you can fill this in using a computer / laptop.  Or, you may wish to print this off and write in your daily tasks by hand.

To make sure you are keeping your brain working each day, I would recommend choosing at least one literacy task (this would be reading, spelling or writing), one maths task and one PE task.  Keeping yourself moving and getting outdoors (even though it will mostly only be into your garden) is very important to make sure you are staying healthy and active as much as possible.

There is a space to record the work you have done each week at the bottom of the timetable.  My hope is that you will fill this out every week, even adding thoughts of how you were feeling or challenges you want to set yourself for next week and then send this over to me and I will put these all together and we can look back on all your great work when we are back in class (hopefully!)

My aim will be to get the weekly work posted on the blog no later than 11am every Monday morning.

The link for the weekly timetable can be found below:

Room 13 Weekly Work Planner

I would love to be able to share all your amazing work on the blog each week so please take lots of photos, videos or send me over your weekly diary entry and I can share this too.   Try to take photos without your face being in it, as I cannot share photos of you online but I can definitely share photos of your amazing work!

Thank you to those who sent me lovely emails over the weekend!  It was a very emotional day on Friday, but hopefully we will be back together sooner than we think.

I realise that is a lot of information so please take your time to read through all of this very carefully.

Any questions, queries or even if you want to just check in… please leave me a comment or send me an email.  I am checking my emails and the blog daily so I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Stay safe and will speak to you soon.
