We went for a morning walk in the Stromfirth road and were very lucky to meet local crofter George who had his sheep in pens waiting to be sheared. George showed us a lamb and we were all able to feel its fleece which was so soft. Sheepdog ‘Tibb’ was let out of the pick-up and we all got to stroke her.
We have enjoyed learning about caterpillars this week at nursery. The children have enjoyed watching our own caterpillars grow and get bigger, they are very excited for when they turn into butterflies. We have been making a big caterpillar for the wall display this week. The children enjoyed cutting, sticking and colouring in a circle to make the caterpillar bigger. Some of the children enjoyed the playdough and making caterpillars with it and some enjoyed copying different kinds of butterflies from the ipad and drawing them. They all done so well and took their time 🙂
Some caterpillars have arrived this morning. The children were very excited to see them and are excited to watch them grow into butterflies.
We all went to the beach this morning to enjoy the weather and have some snack outside. The children enjoyed collecting sea glass and finding different bits of pottery on the beach. They enjoyed climbing on the rocks and playing their own games 🙂
Yesterday we had so much fun playing in out mud kitchen outside yesterday. There was lots of mixing and making different of potions and foods 🙂
Everyone loved planting today at the polytunnel. All the children enjoyed filling their plant pots with soil, adding their sunflower seed in and then topping up the pot with more soil. They all done good listening and are very excited to see them grow by watering them everyday!
We had so much fun yesterday out on our walk up Stromfirth road. We enjoyed picking dandelions to then come back and make a dandelion craft by threading the dandelions on the paper plate to look like a lion.
We loved having the lambs into the polytunnel area today. They were cute and friendly. Every enjoyed taking turns of patting them and feeding them with their bottles. Everyone was gentle with them and showed really good sharing. Thanks to the family for bringing the lambs in!! The children loved it and so did the adults!
The children were very excited to see the tadpole and a surprise visit from a frog in our nature garden at the school. The were all so quiet when the frog popped up and they were all very excited to watch the frog. They can’t wait to go back next week to see how the tadpoles are doing.
Yesterday we went to the beach to participate in ‘Da Voar Redd Up’. The children all took part and done a great job at tidying up the beach. They were all very excited to find some bits of rope or rubbish to put in the bag.
