Early Years

If you would like to visit our Nursery blog please click here

Our Early Years team consists of a Senior Practitioner, Practitioners and Early Years Workers who aim to provide a happy and secure environment in which each child can develop. The basis of the Early Years curriculum is the way in which children learn through play.

Along with other nurseries in Shetland, we operate 1140 hours. This equates to 30 hours per week and our daily provision starts at 8:15am until 4:15pm, with a protected session for lunch 11:45am – 1:15pm, with no collection or drop offs during this time.

Staff in our nursery value the knowledge and experience children gain at home and are keen to work closely with parents and carers to meet each child’s needs and celebrate their successes.

If you have any queries about nursery enrolment or want further information we would welcome a visit from you as we find it is the best way to learn about our provision. Our Nursery Handbook gives more detailed information for parents and is available when you visit.
