The new block of Wider Achievement for Term 1 and 2 started this afternoon. Staff are offering a variety of activities, and pupils were invited to choose the top four. While a handful of pupils did not get their first choice this time, they are guaranteed their top pick for the next block.
This whole-school collaboration brings staff and pupils together for interdisciplinary learning. It helps students develop core meta-skills, including teamwork, leadership, initiative, adaptability, resilience, communication, creativity, and curiosity.
The activities are as follows

Culture Club – this group will provide opportunities to learn traditional skills. This block it is knitting and weaving.

Creativity and Enterprise – making Christmas crafts to sell at the craft fair in November.

Pupil voice – a combination of secondary pupil council, Secondary party and organising school fundraising days.

Sports- mixed sports for mixed ages in the leisure centre

STEM – practical hands on activities working towards a STEM nation award

Outdoors – pupils will help with gardening, polytunnel to work towards Level 2 gardening award and make Christmas tree pallets

Games – darts, jigsaws and board games

If any parents would like to be involved please contact Miss P Irvine at the school.
