Last year Ann-Marie Anderson lead a Folklore collaborative project with Primary 7 and Fernlea. Pupils worked in small groups to create Payt sculptures from wire, plastic bottles, newspaper and masking tape before plastering and painting them and finally decorated with gravits made by Fernlea clients. The project had an emphasis on dialect and is based on a local story ‘Da Payts o Lungafield’.  The project was enjoyed by both pupils and Fernlea clients. Similar projects took place around Shetland and you can see the Payts on display at Bonhoga this Autumn. Please see the poster below for details.
