P2 – 4 STEM Challenge

P2 – 4 completed a STEM challenge this morning. They looked at different famous monuments from around the world and chose one to build using different sized blocks.

The class worked hard to design and build their creations. There were lots of great engineering skills being put to the test to work out how to use the resources to create the monuments.

Well done P2-4!

Outdoor Education Morning

Ollaberry Primary enjoyed a fun first day back.

We had an Outdoor Education Morning with Kate Hookham.

We built dens near the beach and played games in our school woods. We also created some designs with nails, wood and wool.

P4 Show and Tell

We enjoyed listening to P4 this afternoon. They all did a fantastic job with Show and Tell.

We learned about sharks teeth, shells and cuddly toys. Well done P4!

P2 – 4 enjoyed a trip into Lerwick this week to visit the Screenplay festival at Mareel. We really enjoyed watching the selection of short films. Two of the films were made in Shetland. The class were very impressed.

We also visited the new sensory rooms at the Clickamin and enjoyed a look around the Shetland Museum in the afternoon. A great day out!

P2/3 Show and Tell

P2/3 did a great job at Show and Tell this afternoon. Each pupil brought in an item from home. They all did so well sharing information and discussing their items with the rest of the class. Well done P2/3. It’s P4’s turn next week.
