School Trip

The fishing industry is very important to Shetland so we went on a school trip to the Lerwick Fish Market and the Altaire to learn more about it.

We all had a great time on the Altaire, thank-you so much to Tom, Mark and Ivan for showing us around and telling us all about pelagic fishing.

At the Fish Market the children got to see different species of white fish that had been landed. They then got to bid on some boxes of fish in a mock auction… the bill came to £4,496.25! Thank-you to everyone at the Lerwick Fish Market for showing us around, we learned a lot.
