Mrs Leslie told us some health and safety rules when on a farm site.
We looked in the byre.
We saw the slats in the byre floor where the poo and pee goes into the slurry tanks.

Jamie showed us the hens.
Jamie is showing us how they clip the hen’s wings so they can’t fly away.
Jamie got the cattle to come closer so we could have a good look at them.
They are Aberdeen Angus cows.
We loved watching the cattle.
We all liked Destroyer the bull!
We saw the vegetable plots.
Mrs Casey looks after the vegetables.

We enjoyed doing the activities in the field.
We were finding out about jobs on the farm at different times of the year.
We were finding out where the different kinds of meat we eat comes from.
We learned about the journey of meat from the farm to our plates.
We are learning about the cycle of an egg and comparing different types of eggs.

Here we are learning about vegetables, matching the growing plant with the vegetable and the packaged product in the supermarket.
Primary 2/3 had a super trip to Scholland Farm and learned lots about farming and where our food comes from. Thank you very much to Jamie, Mrs Leslie and Mrs Casey for having us!
